Been given a pair of these, don't have much use for them other than powering the 12v system in my garage as I already do with my old 48v bike battery connected to a 24-72V-12V driver.

Issue is they don't just provide power automatically, there's extra pins on the pack I assume are to tell the BMS to turn on power. Anyone know of a way to activate them? a short between two of the extra pins? Or is this some data connection to the controller? In which case I'm gonna need to buy a couple of 10s BMSs. I'd rather use what's already fitted obviously.

Anyone had success in tricking the BMS to turn on with these?

Seems like if you monitor your voltages, then you could open the battery and bypass the BMS for discharging, but still charge via the BMS.
The latest generation of Bosch battery packs is designed to prevent reassembly if they're opened. It's just one more way in which buying Bosch e-bike equipment is a trap to bleed fools of their money.

At best, the OP's packs are old enough that they won't do that.

Yeah these must be older. Looking at the port it seems likely there's a data connection to the controller, but there's nothing else inside that would reset or lock the BMS should it ever be used for its original purpose again. Getting into the case was awkward cause of the stupid latches, but I managed to open one without damaging. Think I'll just run a wire from the B+ before it goes into the BMS and put an XT30 or something somewhere on the case. Quicker and easier than buying and fitting a new BMS on each one. I already have a bunch of random old bike batteries powering lights around the garage and house, so hey, a couple more is groovy.

Little update on this, turns out draining the battery bypassing the BMS sets the BMS in some locked mode and refuses to charge. I charged it with a regular 36v(42) but the BMS still shows 2 flashing lights error. Tried various things to reset the BMS but nada. Ended up removing the Bosch BMS and just putting a regular 15A on each one.

I have a Bosch power tube that I wired so I can get the power bypassing its BMS and it worked okay for me. I charge it through the Bosch connector. Maybe my power tube is older and doesn't have all these ridiculous soft-destruct mechanisms.
