I got it home started to open it up to have a look and the 5 FETS have a heatsink compound on them well, not really heatsink compound is soft and greasy this stuff is hard as glue. I thought I would ask here if any1 knew based on model number before I went and started prying and scraping.

It's a 36volt 1200 watt controller model:LK-02 by Blue Sky Electron.

Just trying to figure out its max voltage before I buy some batteries.

If it's really 5 fets and not at least 6, then it's a brushed motor controller.

You're going to have to get the numbers off the back of the FET for anyone to know. Even the same mfg making the same product will often just use whatever happens to be cheap and available at the factory at the time they are assembling.

I believe we have even seen a single controller using 2 types of FETs, like they ran out of one type half way through populating it...

Then, once you get the numbers off, there is an increasingly large amount of FET counterfitters these days taking whatever they make, and writing the numbers on the package of premium model IR or IXYS fets.

Well thanks for answering. Considering the controller cost less than $30 I'll just plan on running 12s charged to 4.1 - 49.2 hoc and see if it blows. If it does I'll get two packs of 5s and make a 11s2p pack and replace the controller. And yep its a brushed motor. It's a unite I'm upgrading the motor on my first ebike.
