Ive tried searching the forms and couldn't find the answer, Im looking to buy there geared motor and im thinking its a mac, but im not sure.

wow......ummmm 9C 9x7 for the DD
umm not sure about their geared... I think it may be a 9C but there are so many copy cats that its hard to keep track on who make what or who is stealing and rebranding.

Who is E-bikes.com?

E-bikekit.com sells a 2807 9 continent, and a small gearmotor. I don't know who actually makes their gearmotor.

Ebikes-ca.com sells 2807, 2806, and I think 2805 9 continent motors, along with several other types and brands. They sell the Ezee gearmotor.

Cellman sells the mac motors I think. Here is his site. http://www.emissions-free.com/

Ya sorry about that, i mean ebikekits.com

Their geared motor seems to be the same dimensions and weight as a mac motor. If it was the same, i was hoping to be able to replace the gears just in case of failure.

ebikekits.com doesn't seem to sell anything, looks like a search engine spam page.

MXUS manufactures the motors that ebikekit/ampedbikes/cell_man all sell.
I don't know why people keep calling it a nine continent motor. Nine continent does not manufacture that motor, now ebikekit and ampedbikes sell the MXUS 9C knockoff.

Yup, emissions-free is the only site i know if that sells the MAC. BMSBattery has it for sale too, they call it a cute Q1000 or something.. but their shipping cost is ludicrous, so they're not even worth dealing with really.

The Mxus motor looks similar to my ampedbikes motor, different wheel and wiring though. Amped says they are in their fourth generation wheel, the second was 9C I'm pretty sure.

The controller is different than the one Ampedbikes ships as well. Thumb throttle is not the same either. It may be the MXUS site is out of date or that Ampedbikes has changed suppliers this year. The Mxus site says it was updated 9/30/2010.

It's hard to say for sure with only one view of the wheel.

Edit: I just checked the ampedbikes site, their image for the rear wheel is the same as Mxus, not what I got.

It is your ampedbikes motor. The only difference is the paint job.
All 3 kits i mentioned are the same.

Yeah, that's a new controller, but MXUS still sells the older one. The little kits they have for sale on their site are a bit of a specialty item. Note that they also sell a tube battery that looks the same as the ampedbikes battery without a logo on it ... hmm... funny ;)

These companies did use genuine 9 continent motors at one point. But it's been a while since they stopped selling the genuine 9C. The only company i know of who sells the 9C motors these days is ebikes.ca

MMM so how do they differ performance/ quality/ reliability wise to the real 9c

Yes, only the motors I own that have an ebikes-ca stamp on them have the 9c logo. But opened up, I can see no major difference in quality between the real McCoy 9c and the one sold by E-Bikekit.com from the store in the USA. I couldn't say if they are clone 9c, or just sporting a USA brand name. I do know you have to really try to melt one.

No personal knowledge of the amped stuff, but all agree it's good motors whatever generation, wherever they actually come from.

Probably very similar. I'm guessing that performance and quality is dependent on who is building your motor that day and what mood they're in.

A friend from our rc group came round the other week and said his mom had a ebike  no oil changes /valve clearances/no rego .... seed planted, 3 weeks later reading here iv'e hutted it down to probably hs-ht /x5/9c rear drive.
Then read the 9c/mxus twist, auraslip your links helped alot with supplieres comparison's ect tar.

Dogman Nice Thats the sort of thing i was after Thanks
