Anyone know about/tried TOSEVEN Mid Drive?

To7 is setting up a dealer network, which cost a lot of time. Best is to contact To7.
Why should it take along time? A dealer network is already in place. They just need to start supplying some motors. These things will sell fast if they are any good. I mean why can't they use Amazon, ali etc?

Not every seller will be enthousiastic in the first place and must be confinced to go with it.
Reviews, price, marge and revenue must be in balance.

Read back at the start of this topic and you understand why PSWPower isn't the best choice for now.
Maybe later if all is settling down with development of the firmware, or if it will be possible to download and flash it yourself.
 
pswpower is not to blame . they sold what they have got. manufacturer has to deliver good product. as I said before - pswpower didn't stole the faulty motor from toseven factory. they get crap and probably not knowing what's in the box they sold it ...
besides , it's simple for toseven to ship 3 motors to any easily found company that does conversions in any civilized countries and they happily test them and will be selling these if they prove good and reliable ... if I were their employee I could set this up In 2 weeks ...maybe less.
it's silly and unprofessional to blame seller in my opinion when their self proclaimed employees starts flamewar and then flees not delivering serious information regarding product nor entering serious discussion with to-be customers?? basically it's typical Chinese doing business like I see at alibaba . they show one product but they want to ship another for twice the price pretending that customer is stupid and doesn't know what he wants. they rarely have solid specs and less often speak English. sorry to say but too often the people who sell stuff know ANYTHING about it ...

The same story with tongsheng and their tsdz2 turbo / TSDZ8 or god knows how they name their new allegedly improved motor.
CYC motor atleast looks much profesional in this matter.

But cyc is located in honk-kong so maybe this exaplains why they are better in PR-stuff. Just compare websites. To7 and tongsheng look like typical chinese crap.

I spoke to one of their EU representatives and they mentioned that review units already went out to several dealers in the US in June/July. I reached out to Eco Cycles as it was one of the dealers they knew but with their website down for a while now I doubt they'll be replying soon.

for a company that knows stuff it's day or two to set up and review the thing...soo...still smells fishy
 
What is up with EcoCycles? The website has been down so long it's hard to believe it is just a technical issue. I also reached out to them about something else and never heard back.

I spoke to one of their EU representatives and they mentioned that review units already went out to several dealers in the US in June/July. I reached out to Eco Cycles as it was one of the dealers they knew but with their website down for a while now I doubt they'll be replying soon.
 
Curious about the ToSeven offerings after having high hopes- then being woefully dissappointed with the TSDZ2, I joined the Discord thread of High Voltage Electric Light Vehicle channel from YouTube and got in touch with Alex/Olek. Alex is on the ToSeven payroll and a bit of a fixer / corrector of ToSeven threads. He then linked me up with ToSeven and I've paid for a DM02 and handsomely for postage and now it is wait and see. I commute to work by e-bike most days. Going to work is easy, 90% down hill, going home is what tests motors. I've been recording my rides and gathering data, it was initially intended to be a supporting piece for the TSDZ2 and the OSF created by Caseinho and embrusa and others... the OSF is really good but the TSDZ2 was not equal to my rides home. So, hopefully the ToSeven DM02 will be the motor we have been waiting for, small and light, torque sensing, reasonable price and a convincing 250w continuous for Mr Plod but with the reliability and repairablity of a Bafang. The HV videos show a dissembly of the motor and it is tight in its casing so heat transfer shouldn't be and issue and it seems to come with stock temoerature sensing and throttling too. I have not had word that my motor has made it's way to the post office in China yet so I could be waiting years... Once it arrives I'll post more. For now I use a basic rear hub drive... it lacks finess and I never feel excited about taking it for a ride like I did with the TSDZ2 before I cooked it, but it is reliable and helps me home in good time.

Reliability has always been an issue with the TS but I've been running two for 8 years. Had to replace gears and clutches etc and put up with its various niggles. But to be honest there's been nothing on the market to beat it for value and capabilities in all that time.
Hoping the dm02 is the next step in the small torqe sensing mid drive evolution. Seems to me 2 7 is trying to create market buzz before all the pieces are in place
Imo they don't need to do that, just deliver a more robust TS and people will buy it.

@Ianane thanks for taking the early leap of faith with Toseven, as it seems is needed with all of the D.I.Y. motors. I've done so with a pair of CYC Photons, and my fingers are still crossed.

On parts, we'll see if the Toseven parts become "generics" as with the Bafang and the Tongsheng. I've wondered whether either vendor granted their component manufacturers independent distribution or something. If so, will CYC and/or Toseven do something similar?

How much was the motor + postage? Their sales dept has been pretty vague in my emails though they don't reply very quickly at all.

I hear you with there's been nothing on the market to beat the TSDZ2 until now, with the photon and DM02... I was about to buy a photon then the DMo2 caught my eye and was less pain on my aging hip pocket nerve. I also agree with your humble opinion, build it well, keep it open and provide clear access to reliable parts and they will come.
I'm not sure they are trying to create a storm of interest by playing hard to get... there may be a bit of this going on but Olek wrote in one reply to a query, and I paraphrase - 'there's been a few teething issues with the early releases in the wild so we're trying to fix things before we send out more.' So I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt and vainly hope they are trying to get a reliable motor out to the DIY public at a reasonable price

I was quoted US$316 for the motor and US$98 for postage, so AU$663 for the 68mm - 73mm complete motor kit with display, cranks, chain ring etc. If you get into the High Voltage Electric Light Vehicle Channel's Discord threads for DM01 or DM02 motors you'll find Olek. He seems to be keeping an eye on things in various forums and offers follow up and support for getting a few motors 'out into the wild'. I suspect he is trying to find people who will try the motors in 'good faith' and help raise issues for product development so once they have developed a retail network they can sell a tested motor with more confidence. This is my guess at what is going on. I'm not so tech savvy... what will be the gold mine is when a few clever clogs like casainho and/or mbrusa can jump on board... but I suspect they are burnt out with all the work they have don on the TSDZ2 and need to move on in life... but there will be a new generation of smart young DIY e-bikers coming through.

Not bad at all for the motor but a bit steep for shipping - makes sense since its coming from so far away. I hear you on the DIY tinkering front, hopefully they make the firmware publicly available soon after a proper release, I know they've been planning to according to Olek at least.

When I get it I'll start recording my commutes on Strava and collate and compare experiences with other motors I've tried... I'll repeat myself often here, in the High Voltage discorse feed and in Pedelecs. Once I've put out the kind of information I'd like to see to reassure myself, I'll crawl back into my box and feed on other people's good work.
 
I have a TOSEVEN DM01, but I need the manual that covers all the advanced settings. Without that, the torque sensor is not sensitive at all.
I've done a lot of searches and can't find any description of all the advanced settings. I think it's great that there are all these settings we can dial in where we need them to be, but without a description, they are useless and not self-explanatory.
Does anyone know where these can be found?

There is no guide yet. The default settings are not optimal.

From the YT comments you can try first:

I will try these settings and let you know what happens tomorrow. Thanks for your effort. I appreciate it. The manufacturer has everything written down somewhere that tells you exactly what does what and how. Why they won't release that to at least their dealers, I don't understand. THANKS!
