Theres alot of fun to be had on the most simple of rides, adding a little fizz to the mix when possible can increases the smiles per miles ratio as long as the build goes to plan.

Well ive had lots of build not go to plan and got a fair old box of random parts and when i seen this bike i knew this could thin that box down a bit while creating a wicked ride.

Theres a bike local i pick up on the weekend for a fair price good as new, im going to gut its near new electronics after i have a tear up on it and add a qs 138 70h i got sitting idol.

Mating the motor to the wheel thats using a disc brake iso for sprocket attachment has never been easy theres a few 219 sized sprockets about but the qs motors sprockets start at a chain size of 420 and up.

420 and 428 kart sprockets exist but they have a teeth range of 40 to 54 on average and with a mitor sprocket of 10t not many rides could gear down enough for the wheel size but the small wheels on this will allow me to go direct drive with a 5.4 ratio thats very close to stock with the ability to climb to a 3.6 ratio just swapping drive sprockets.

In my parts bin i got an oset sprocket carrier thats disc iso pattern to kart 135mm pcd sprocket, from there ive got a 54t 428 sprocket so i can mount the qs motor and have a direct drive with the chain tensioned through the mount no need for chain rollers so no issues applying regen.

As for the controller im not to sure but ive got a vesc i can get it running with till i battery swap it and get something more suitable when i got some dimensions to work with but will properly go with a votol 200 2sp.

More updates coming soon.

Had my parts turn up back sprocket is great but my motor sprocket not so much turns out my motor is an old spline type with a 6-4 spline size rather than the later 6-5 no biggy for £4 ive ordered a pitbike 20mm 10t sprocket and i believe thats the same 6-4 size.

Not picked bike up yet had a major issue with my cars steering not working so i can't travel but next few days ill have something sorted.

Main thing is the setup will work with this bike and its a bit of a novelty ride but it will have the ability to get most places and i can use it for my yearly gathering do a few burnouts and wheelies got till august for that so plenty time it will happen.

Can someone take these measurements for me. Doesn't have to be exact, just close. Thanks. screenshot.png

Just another company selling an electric minibike. It’s not a full suspension so a mid drive adds pointless extra complexity, with reduced reliability and efficiency. Go with a hub… if motor wind is a speed issue well first consider that 65mph on that wheelbase will have you living more in 20 seconds than most do in a lifetime.

I built this for a customer. He brought me the motor and the rolling chassis though I begged him to change his mind. Well he was a stubborn dude with money. Topped out about 55… felt fine but this is considered a super sized minibike, it’s got the dropouts outside the frame and 20” OD tires. I’ve ridden gas minibikes that have done 20 over this, no thanks

60mph is plenty enough on a bike with no suspension and made for a child/small adult i wont be taking it that far hub motors are nice and easy to drop in and guarantee a good outcome speed wise.

What i plan is less top end and more acceleration 40mph but a wheelie machine as these bikes are notorious for being easy to wheelie surronster give his stamp of approval.

My project took a sideline for a bit, ill pick it up soon ive had to buy a new car and life commitments and stuff but ill be making this soon all i need is a donar bike got most of the stuff thats what its about making use of my spares to make something fun.
