    Ebike rope tow

It's not poly rope. More like cotton or natural fiber. Got it at UFA farm supply. About 1.50 cad a foot.

    Ebike rope tow

https://youtu.be/gV_jPLhIZ2U Finally put my old e-bike parts to good use. Still getting a big grin!

Luke's commuter bicycle. What Non-hub is all about.

I was kind of joking, but now you have me thinking! I wouldn't want you to part with your baby. Would something like this scale-could it be mass produced? I have huge respect for Justin as well. He is a rare bird and this world needs more like him. That ride across Canada was epic.

Hub motor axle mounted in Downhill fork?

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like I have two projects: adapter parts that will serve as a vice once they are placed inside the end holes in the fork. The other component would be the torque arm or arms. Are two torque arms overkill? I am leaning towards one on either side. The motor will...

Hub motor axle mounted in Downhill fork?

Anyone ever do this? I am talking about the forks that don't use the traditional axle pin. Here is an example: http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQY9IZf28COH9zhBaJl-dQNhwPD1ffwi6aGEKtG5bXcZ5fKPGmpjg

    I got my (e)bike stolen

About a year ago, I left my garage open overnight and found my ebike missing in the moring. Batteries were all hooked up too. I looked out on my driveway and there it was lying on it's side. The pedal first controller saved me a pretty huge insurance claim! I guess they couldn't figure out how...

    Girlfriend won't ride my ebike!

My mother, 66 yrs old, has tried my creations, father same age, won't go near it. Both are still fairly active on regular bikes.

Got to ride another day today !

We had a few days in the -20 Celsius range with one ride at -31 Celsius. Only going 55km/hr though. In big storms, the ebike really shines, I can get to work (30km distance) in under an hour. By car, 1.5 to 2 hours. My cut off is more than a foot of snow. They do a pretty good job of clearing...

    Dealing with crosswind

We get at least 10 days a year of 90km/hr (~55mph) winds. I recommend not jumping your bike in such winds.

What brand of kids e-vehicles is the most hackable/modable?

I'm thinking of those little electric jeeps and cars that 3-8 year olds drive around my block. My wife is pretty keen on one of those for a Christmas present for our little ones. I'm game as long as I can *upgrade* it. I'm looking for a brand or model with a bit of a community of people who...

    Winter Riding, keeping warm.

There's no such thing as bad e-bike weather, just poor clothing choices! Most important advice I could offer: studded tires. This will be my third winter of riding every day. My coldest day is -36 celcius (without wind chill factoring in which would take it to who knows what). My rides last...

    48v 20ah

I have used two 10 ah pings at 48 volts in parallel for the past 14 months. Rode all through the winter. Coldest day was -34 Celsius (-29 F). I had them wrapped with closed cell foam inside paniers. I also charged inside during the winter. I don't think the batteries every had a chance to freeze...

    Helmet Camera, or Onboard Camera

I'm going to start doing this. I bought the go pro wide a couple of months ago and was waiting until the go pro wrist wide mount came out. Ordered it today.

    Wanting to Convert

I'm doing 37 miles a day round trip right now. I initially tried two 15ah 48v pings and it would just barely make the distance without charging. But it wouldn't have been enough in the winter or on a big wind day. I've got a huge hill as well to contend with. Two of them were too heavy for my...

Anybody got Ping batteries shipped to Canada?

Yep I've gotten two orders from PING already here in Canada. One got mistakenly sent to the US and Mr Ping promptly fixed it. Would definately order again.

    Hand signals

Yeah I usually only use signals when there is a real need to communicate. On the bike pathways it can be quite helpful some times.

    Hand signals

I was wondering about this too. I've got my throttle on the left, so its more practical to signal with my right arm, I still signal left turns with my left arm. I usually point one finger in the air so it doesn't look like I'm waving. I'm always worried when signaling a left turn the guy...
