52V 26ah battery stopped working

On the other side is # 1 pos all 8 cell straight accross next to the 8 is # 2 same buss or link with nickel strips to a group of 8 cells neg ( see the little tit and flat end ?) same cells but all 8 flipped. Now take the neg probe across to the pos side and take the red pos across the next cell group # 2 other side straight accross . Stop have someone proof read this. Hungry.

#1 is 4.14V
#2 is 4.14V
#3 is 4.14V
#4 is 4.14V
#5 is 4.14-4.15
#6 is 4.14V
#7 is 4.14-4.15V
#8 is 4.14V
#9 is 4.14V
#10 is 4.14V
#11 is 4 .14 - 4.15V
#12 is 4.14V
#13 is 4.14 - 4.15V
#14 is 4.15V

OK, good work. All the voltages are in the normal range which is good news. The bad news is the BMS is likely bad. Most of them will require some soldering to remove the main battery wires and swap out.

Great the cell are in balance. What controller and motor you running ? It would be nice to have a link for the battery or reality the cells for a matching bms. Battery can seam real hard and time consuming. Can make me cry.

Can you get a replacement BMS from the battery supplier? If not, there are some other sources.

I have seen one that looks almost exactly like that one that came off a Luna Cycle pack, so Luna might be a possible source.

I can do that
There are plenty of BMSes out there that will handle 14s. (Note that most 16s BMSes can be retrofitted to handle 14S.) Here's one supplier I have used before:

These are the battery specs

Yes that's what's needed for. 14s bms. I can't can recommend a seller . Usa is luna cycle or em3ev china has that stlye. Plus it looked like your bms has a temp wire? Lots of other people on es have lots of experience and threads. I run bare back with very high quality cells, lots of work.

Since it's open up I would put an extra set of sense wires on 7s so you can check it with a 7s or 8s meter cheap. 10 - 7s sense wires under 10.00 shipped.http://m.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-JST-XH-7S-Lipo-Balance-Wire-Extension-Lead-30cm-for-RC-Helicopter-Car-Boat-/181846217582?nav=SEARCH cheap. Get meter later .

I like the BMS units from Bestech Power, but they are quite expensive if you only want one. There are many on eBay and Alibaba. Do an Ebay search for "14s BMS lithium" I see some for $35 shipped. I would recommend looking for one with a current rating higher than the cell rating. The controller should normally limit the current to a safe level. You don't want one that trips every time you accelerate hard. If you get a wiring short or controller fail, the BMS should have no problem tripping. The ones rated for 30A might work if your controller limits at 20A. If your controller limits at 30A, I would look for a 40-50A rated BMS.

Install a fuse if there is not one already. Ideally between the battery and the BMS. Fuse should be rated higher than the overcurrent trip point for the BMS.

You want to look for one that has the same balance wire connector so you can just plug in the original harness.

Si so what controller and motor combo you running plus weight and hills and other stuffs.
Fetcher you know the amp draw of these cells ? I can't believe what to know for use. Can they reality run 15amp one 18650 ? Some. .?
Not these cells. But ? Can they in the middle of these triangle pack ? Thanks.

P.s. I get it these cells are 5 amp in his pack or so ?

Do you have a cycle analyst as it could lower your amps. Meaning 30amp draw would have that pack last. I that controller in my draw it can draw hard quick amp hard on cells.
What a 40 amp controller with a 30amp bms pack.
So what could be the problem.
Didn't I ask these question two Pages ago ?

Yes I have CA. It worked very good for a whole year. Just few weeks ago I touched the charging port with a key and shorted it.

That's the answer I received from Luna Cycle.

"We only keep stock for our batteries. We do not have any other BMS that we sell sorry.

I am not aware of any where in the US that sell BMS"

So I have to look for another source.

Too bad they don't sell just the BMS.

The spec sheet for the batteries says 30A continuous. With 8p cells, I'm sure it could handle more for a burst.
The Lyen controller can be programmed for a lower limit if necessary, but 40A sounds reasonable for these cells. Battery heating is the limiting factor.

I have a similar setup with a 14s, 9p pack. I had issues with the BMS tripping during a hard takeoff and had to increase the BMS trip current to prevent this. There was a current surge at startup which quickly settled down once the bike got moving. Even running at 40A for several minutes straight, the batteries were getting just barely warm.

There was a member selling some surplus BMS units a while back but not sure if he still has any. You might try contacting him. See sale thread:
