...A new one! [low-cost dirt bike] -- second test video

there's so much work to do on the frame, but it's getting a shape now:

I also shortened the shock:

Looks awesome but I hope you are going to brace the swingarm a bit, it looks a little thin compared to the bike!

For sure, the swingarm is not finished yet.

Unfortunately I can not weld aluminum, so I need to balance rigidity and weight.

Hei!

I finished the frame and added a compartment to hold a phone and so on..

Then I coated the surface with an antirust:

I just finished painting the frame:

Looking great! How do you plan to adapt the forks to a bike wheel??

I designed 2 new aluminium hubs so they can fit perfectly. I'll then use standard 26" mtb rims

Supernice frame and work. Looking forward to see how your gearing will work. Have to tell you that you work fast. Do you work with mechanical stuff as a dayjob?

Thanks Ratking, I'm really happy because I was inspired by your beautiful bike.
Mine only has a single 80100, but the 4 speed transmission should make it really funny to ride!

Unfortunately I'm only a student and I haven't got particular machines such as a lathe or a mill, so I've to design my projects trying to minimize the need of them.

The reason why I'm building it so fast is that I just graduated at university, and on 15 of september I'll move to another city for a specialization of other 2 years, so I'm trying to finish the bigger parts before that date.
I'm working on the bike like 11 hours a day. :D

You have a stunning job of the frame and design, white just gives it the bling factor. Looking forward to see it finished

Paul

Thanks Paul!
Your bike has a beautiful frame too!

Nice work.

Hey very interesting build and nice frame design.
I´m really impressed by your idea for the gearbox, looking forward to the progress.
Could you please tell me more about your fork?
Whats the weight? How much travel does it have(250mm?) ? How long is it? and What Size of Bearings do you use for it?
I am planing a frame to and haven´t really decided which fork to use.

Thanks
Dennis
