This is a 2-for-1 video. As a discussion about the questionable viability of rideshare scooters as a business, I found this video to be fairly interesting and comprehensive.

As a compilation video of people abusing and destroying Byrd, Spin and Lime scooters, I found it to be downright hilarious!

Kind of sucks to see all those bozos trashing stuff. I was in downtown Chicago a few weekends ago, and saw a bikeshare bike laying in the bus lane. So I set it on the curb and the guy who parked it there comes running over, thinking I was going to steal it, Guess I was lucky he didn't pull a gun.

I did get two Bafang front motors with wheels, Schwalbe Marathon tires, and Textro rotors/calipers for $45 each, after Jump's shared ebike venture failed on the East Coast, Believe Chalo got some too, Also got a pair of $30 scooter batteries off another failed company. Some of the best batteries I ever seen too, except for the long form factor, HEre's my ebike with the $75 drivetrain,

Good ol' ZIRP era business model. I thought it could generate money if done right though.. & also.. if there was some enforcement on destruction of the rentals - the idea of putting them in major cities, especially ones with notable amounts of unhinged people living in them, without any plan in mind, seems to be one of the ingredients of failure.

Recent events conclusively demonstrate that most unhinged people live in the sticks.

oof, how about we not go there :cautious:
