Only about 1.5 days to go before Sunday noon start for the 3rd annual Toronto uphill race. Weather forecast cooperating (that morning, 17C w/southerly tail wind 15km/h and 20% p.o.p.), 19 riders signed to race, and local media (newspaper) expected to show up.

BTW. Thought today re next years race to go up the cliff the long way. Along the old Indian trail (road to Kings Town aka "Kingston Road") from Queens Street East (still near the Lake surface) up to the old City of Carbeeria (Sorry. Meant Scarborough... darned spellcheck.) ... and to go for a street closing. For the few minutes that this race entails. With this years two trophies (winner in "open" category plus "store bought"/No Name flavour) not sure how some folks might feed about "opening things up" speed-wise with any more... media attention.

Hardest paved climb in the world? 9.6km long and an average gradient of 18.1%. Seen here:

Pozza San Glisente rises south out of the village of Esine, Italy, has sketch tarmac, a tough average gradient of 18.1 per cent
