Building a cadence only bike

Looking for some help. We currently live on a large farm and I have nerve damage in my feet. Om
Looking to buy a mountain bike and build a 750w cadence motor kit. My question is will I be able to set it up so that I can turn the pedal with minimal force (due to nerve damage pain) but get the bike to move and how would this work with the gears etc? I have read about ghost pedalling and essentially it’s what I need to do and the motor to do the work along farm tracks. Many thanks

BBSO2 and a program cable, pretty easy to get it setup exactly how you need it. Get one with a URAT controller vs the canbus in alot of new ones.

I would still add a throttle even if you get a cadence based PAS based on your physical limitations. Once you’re moving a cadence based PAS would work great, but the issue is getting it moving from a stop. Cadence PAS will usually take at least a half turn of the crank, but most take at least a full rotation before any assist kicks in. With a throttle, you can give it a little blip to get it moving which should be enough movement/rotation to allow the PAS assist to kick in.

BTW, it’s UART, not URAT.

That's how mine is setup, 9 levels of assist and set amount of assist on all levels to 100 Percent it will give full assist . Ghost pedaling keeps the motor rpms up which also helps to keep the motor cool . I run 152mm crank arms for a higher cadence also.
