The DM-03 Mini Display (25 amp controller) on a Bafang front geared motor doesn't seem programmable to remove the speed limiter and change the V from 54.6 to 58.8. Any recommendations for an inexpensive display that would allow this?IMG_6046.jpg
 
Is the display actually the controller, or is there a separate controller in the system. I see what looks like an alumin(i)um box on the top tube, which leads me to think there is a controller there. That's more likely to, well, control the system. What is it?

Pictures of labels and cables going in and out are useful, as it may be some re-branded item.
 
The aluminum box is the controller. I purchased the Bafang 48V, 500W Front Hub Motor Kit from Amazon, and it functions adequately with a Varstrom DM-03 Mini Display. It's just that I can't change the system to eliminate the 24 mph governor and would like the power to be generated more gradually and the system be 52V to match the battery so the voltmeter would be somewhat accurate.. The black box under the controller just houses the extra cables.

The functions you are describing can be found on programable controllers, not a kit controller from Amazon. With rare exceptions, 52v is not a widely supported voltage for diy displays and controllers. The standard voltages are all a multiple of 12v (24v, 36v, 48v, 60v, 72v etc.). 52v is a hot rod version of 48v, providing a small bump in performance at the cost of a loss of LVC protection and battery level display. 52v is supported on some factory bikes.
The power issue is a function of controller design, so Bafang, vs brainpower, vs KT, vs Jk, etc, will function as either speed vs current control and the behavior can’t be changed unless the controller is programmable.
24mph is an odd speed to set a limit to. Speed limiters usually are there to meet some legal requirements. Does your motor spin the exact same speed while riding as unloaded with the wheel off the ground?
 
Thanks E-HP, that's really helpful, and seems an accurate description of my situation (I'm using 52V because I already had the batteries for a BBS02 conversion). I'll try the no load test, and consider a programmable controller.
