Greetings: I've always thought the front hub battery of the extant Tidal Force was pretty cool. E+ copied the design but I am out of the financial running of a commercial product like that. has anyone over rolled their own and either chronicled the build or are their other ways to learn about how these things go together. I don't know the first thing about these batteries. They are literally black boxes to me. I may never build one, but I would like to know a lot more about them.Thoughts. TIA.

One of the perennial complaints about new models is the converse nature of effects as it pertains to batteries.

Higher performance requires more volts and amps, but...that requires a larger battery.

A larger battery is more expensive, heavier, and if mounted in the wheel, it has a major negative effect on the bikes handling, damage to the hub itself (cracked sideplates), broken spokes when hitting a pothole, etc...

Performance aside...everyone always eventually wants more range. Again, more range requires more battery volume, which a wheel-mount severely restricts.

Can it be done?...I have seen so many clever solutions around here, I can say without hesitation that...yes...it is possible, with enough money, skill, and time.
