E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

They have to deal with the built-in consumer protection regs, implied warranty etc.

Plus very high expectations.

Exchange rate and shipping cost to the U.S. very much not in favor though

Lovin this big battery. 35ah is nothing like 24. Basically I'll never have to consider my speed when I go on long rides, and even if I do 35 mph is about the least I'd need to go. If I rode 25 to 30 it'd go a million miles.

I got up to 53 mph earlier, and averaged 25 mph on 14.7ah and went 19 miles. That works out to almost 45 miles range, but that was just wasting amp hours like a drunken fool . If I really had a plan I wouldn't go that fast. I figure at 35 mph I could go way over 50 miles. To suck it dry at 50 miles I could probably do 45 mph.

Hey Theodore,

That sounds great.
Where did you get your battery from?

Awesome TV. That is some serious range. should get you to and from Strokers when the quarantine lifts at least 3 times. Better post some pics for 2020.

Looks like 35 is the new 18!! Heh.....

Here’s a few pics from a quick juant with my new 35ah pack..

Btw what chargers are all of you using that allow for adjusting percent of charge?? Luna? Satiator?

My bike has 13.000 miles on it now, and my MT2s are worn out. They served me well over the years, and I never felt like I needed more stopping power, but it's time to upgrade. I don't have a ton of money to spend, so I decided on some mid level brakes that I think are probably a lot better than the MT2s, but are reasonably priced.

I have a home built 20s15p 30Q pack which is 45 amps.......of which I’ve never used more than 25amps. Makes me feel good to use less than 50% capacity......should last a long, long time! I made it big so I can pull 200 + amps at any time. MaxE/QS205 gets hungry at times. 35 is a good sized pack and 49 amps is just crazy big on a bicycle. Cool!

Life is good with a big battery.

Yes this is going to be great, but as the euphoria of having so much capacity starts dying down reality is starting to set in. I'm not really going to get a million miles lol. 40 is in the bag, and 50 if I hold back a little bit. Especially because it's not looking good that I'll ever be able to stop lead footing it.

As we know battery's are never really 100% of their potential on paper. And when you get down to the last few amp hours the power gets pretty sedate. Realistically I have about 30 good ah, and a few more to limp home on. That's still really good though, and a long way from the original measly smesly 18ah.

Pffft 35Ah  - 49AH is where it's at 8)

My MT2 was fine for the rear, but I had an MT4 on the front. Never had any issues riding it very hard.

Cheers

I almost bought a set of MT4 for $150 but they sold out when I tried to order them today. I was thinking about these Shimano's for a few months, so I decided they were the ones.

Every battery I to buy is bigger than the last, so if I live long enough we'll see what's available when the time comes. I'm still waiting for the cold fusion models to come out.

Hey Cd, when you build a pack do you find many cells that you have to reject because they don't seem as good as the others for some reason? I think the Chinese factory's aren't all that particular about it.

So do the standard frames boxes accept that sort of capcity?
Yep, if you build the pack yourself. If your in Australia I can build a pack for you. Flick me a PM if your interested.

0 actually. Even though I test every cell, I have yet to find any rejects. The QC is actually very good on brand name batteries in most cases.
Watch this interesting tour to get an idea of why:

I measured all 200 cells individually as I was pulling them out of the case and applying shrink wrap and had zero duds. That's not to say something couldn't go wrong when spot welding. That's why Im all about the Bluetooth BMSs available now.

That aint gonna fit in a Bomber. Is that the taller variant 20s 15p for the Sur-Ron?

This is for my bomber wanna-be bike. Just showing the battery for all its 45 amps of beauty! Naked Battery porn is the best!

True that.

How are you fitting that, My guess is the big blocks go on top of each other and the narrow block on top of that for the narrower part? The opening on the Bomber is 165mm tall, but there more space available is the pack is narrower.

Here you go.
This is a timelapse of my recently built 3Kwh battery for a Stealth Hurricane.
It is 20S12P, using 240 Sanyo NCR18650GA cells.

Many hours of footage were NOT used to make this video to keep it to a reasonable length. This only partially reflects the amount of time/effort required to build one of these monsters.

Enjoy!

One of these would also fit a Bomber.
