Oh, thats my brick! 20s6p(72v18Ah 6kg) Samsung 30Q - good for 120A peak. Perfect fit for the Beta frame.
This means I can send one to Rick! I doing one at a time now, because of lithium regulations. Sent one battery to Cowardlyduck in Ausie, but both times it was stopped. First stopped in Denmark during x-rays so I did send it with another company which stopped it in Hawaii. Ironically, they send it back to me by Air with a note that lithium cannot be transported by Aircrafts.

Classic, return to sender by air to say it cannot be transported by air, WTF?

Yeah, it sucks so bad, not just cause of the time, effort, money wasted in this effort, but also now it means I won't be able to mount my new Multistars to my Fighter any time soon as I was depending on the 18650 pack to replace the 4 Multistars I've temporarily used on my recumbent.

Anyway, I'm gonna see if I can just make my own pack from bare cells now...should have just done that to begin with.

Cheers

I thought it was alright on a cargo plane?

Allex - does that mean that you know that you can ship to the States?

Its ellegal to send any battery that's not in a hard case. It also needs to be united nations approved and sent as hasmat. Dangerous goods Certificate with the correct stickers.
Its the responsibility of the person who's doing the import to ensure that the battery is legal to send. Any battery which is sent and if it hasn't been sent legally and is damaged during transit (this is why it needs to be in a hard case to prevent damage to cells resuting in a short) maybe held responsible for any incident.

Last year I ordered a 30 ah 48v triangle battery from Aliexpress, for my Storm. Mine was $625, free shipping, and once shipped I received it in 3 days.

You actually never now, it is a gambling game. If one(customer) will accept the IATA approved packaging then I can send them anywere, but this one cost around 600bucks plus shipping :)

You've hit the nail on the head folks. When it all went to seed in October I started ocean shipping as many cells as I could get into Australia. Its a lithium drought for most folks now.
I'm feeling kinda bad because I have plenty of cells here and no time to weld a pack for my own beta!

I think it just matters where you live. Laws only apply to you suckers outside the us. China can send lithium battery's into the us toot sweet with no problems at all, frock paperwork. That's because our government sucks China's tailpipe, and wouldn't dare tell them they can't ship anything dangerous into our country.

Besides that, the us has a postal treaty with China. Chinese shippers can send most packages to the us by mail for almost free. That's why most items on eBay coming from China are usually free shipping, but it only works one way. If we ship to China it still costs us big bucks.

That's about the only advantage of having a government owned by big corporations that all moved their factory's to China.

In that case, maybe it doesn't make sense to ship the batteries to Tumich in EU and then back to the US. I'll reachout and see what he says about sending him a "referral fee" for the verified supplier and just direct shipping here.

Allex said:
Why would you send the batteries to tumich?

I thought that cells ordered from Tumich go to him first in Europe, then to the person he is selling to (back to USA). If he can dropship the cells directly to the purchaser from the source, then that is perfect but I don't think that is the case. He says he doesn't have the Sanyo in stock so I think that means he needs them in hand first.

Maybe I have this wrong?

His source is most probably inside Poland so it shoudl not matter.

You called it! He said he has EU source. I asked if about concerns or risks associated with shipping from EU to America. I also provided the link to this thread should he want to respond directly. Otherwise, I will let that be the end of it, pending further developments.

Sorry for the Off-Topic tangent all! Back to the regularly scheduled Stealth program. :)

I this is on topic stuff. Think about it, what powers our kick ass Stealth Ebikes and all ebikes for that matter, batteries.

Just rode my bomber for the first time in about two months. First twist of the throttle and it felt like it was pulling like it had a QS205 on it at 150A. Battery went from 84V to 10V on less than a one mile ride before Low V cut off triggered. Slow pedal home and put it on the charger which started reading 80V right away. Low V is set to 70V and yes when I looked down it really said 10V which I simply can't imagine.

Side note is it felt really good to ride it again, almost felt small and nimble vs the NYX, kinda making me want a fighter or a flux too.
