Fibretech FlyPAN 2015 Dual Diag 12S

That is all commendable Jason and i also want the best ESC I can get and i also appreciate the time and effort needed to bring anything new to the market- I like to think I was the pioneer for DIY skateboard kits and I do this part time ..I will leave Bruno to specifically answer about the ESC ..but as far as I know the ESC from APS will be user friendly and not require any programming knowledge to use...unlike the VESC...
You must remember Jason that there are other people who want to build E-boards but have no previous experience or technical ability to do so..so open source is fine for technically minded people but not for the majority of builders out there...
who want a plug and play systems..
Alien Drive and APS are both limited companies and as such have to have liability insurance for the products we sell to protect our customers in the event of an 'incident' ..I personally would not want to sell a product to a customer that is basically a prototype..and to be used at there own risk..
When it is a dependable ,easy to use unit..then I and my customers will be happy...

p.s- sorry to crash your thread- OKP..

Oh god..............

tell me you didnt use flier to make these escs.

they been a copycat company since forever.

you really didnt just hand over the vesc to the "literal copycats".

You could of at least went with a random pcb company make it a little harder. China always wants to build new products for someone elses dime.

I hope these are better quality then theyre so called engineers made their own escs.

APS / flier escs across the board are garbage. If you want to waste your money buy them.

Its great you guys got the vesc out there but totally the wrong direction.

Sorry okp

hey guys, you don't crash my thread, please don't remove the messages. This thread is not about my builds which honestly are OK but not as important as sharing experiences and friendship. I think transparence and clarity is better than any of my future build photos.

thanks and please continue this is much appreciated as we all learn from each other.

the sad truth about this world we live in, especially DIY, is that most people are financially restricted when it comes to what products they can afford to buy.

Ask silviasol how many units he sold....

Jacob and I sold 50 units between us....

Why?

Because we sourced the cheapest price we could... and offered it to the people who wanted to have it.

Does this mean the quality is lower?

NO... it doesnt... we have simply been able to find the best manufacturing methods.

The parts ben orders for his own self made ESC and the parts described on his bill of components are available from Mouser. Ben himself suggested this supplier.

This is the head office address Of mouser.

Most of the parts come from china anyway guys!... it doesnt matter how, or where you assemble them....or what country.... its all about the actual parts used And the firmware... in fact there was a short delay with VESC because one part needed to be imported from the US..

the cheif engineer at flier has hes own ESC designs... and frankly they are a disappointment... this is due to the design of the firmware... combined with cheap hardware... the VESC suffers from neither of these problems.

Now... The actual assembly quality of flier esc is exceptional! So we took advantage of their ability to assemble component's onto PCBs (flier actually outsource PCB production to a specialist PCB factory) & Using vedders recommended quality components and superior firmware we made a product that is very Good quality and has an affordable price...

obviously bruno thinks what we did was a good idea also.

The quality you get from china is determined by how well the product is designed and how good your quality control process are....

Yeah --- good luck on boasting about that Windows App for VESC...

Knowing their luck... you'll end up with crap.. I wish them the best and hope it comes out great but I highly doubt it.

The BLDC tool was ported from linux to windows by an ES user...

Flier doesn't have this knowledge.

Once again we, the community, are workig hard to deliver what the people want...

While I agree everything is made in China.

Flier's quality control is far from great.

Flier ESC PCB quality is not exceptional. You can find high quality PCB's that run laps around Flier's PCBs you can also find anywhere in countless factories across China.

The fact that you gave a GREAT ESC design to an ESC company was my issue.

The ESC Designs are also not owned by the chief engineer of Flier but sure.. ok. Read up on the past reviews on Flier. They actually stole someone elses design and they were the sole manufacturer.

That's the main point... Flier has no quality control. How are you going to ship ESC's around the world and they fail 60-80%.

I just hope this doesn't happen with the VESC. I wish you guys all of the luck though and appreciate you making an effort. I just wish it was another company that was producing these ESCs. That's my only gripe.

I'm also glad that the BLDC tool was ported by an ES user and not Flier.

As long as the quality is great.. that's fine by me. :) I just wish it wasn't produced by another ESC company. Anyone could of done that....

You won't be the only one to sell these escs which is my main point as well. Everybody and their dad, mom and grandma will have access to these ESCs now.

oops !

sick man-looks sweet.......my mate said i should have done some thing similar on my eastside bomber and vinyl wrapped it.. is that what that is..? a vinyl print?
i believe the youth of today call it 'sticker bombing.'...lol showing my age..

woooohhh dude..that makes it all the more sicker---respect..

I forgot to say earlier that the new remote from APS will have a digital trim for both the brake power limit and the throttle power limit...or that's the plan..
so hope fully we can then run the new firmware with smooth braking on the dual 10s and use the remote to control it..also same with power..

great ! sounds perfect ! just had a short cruise with my girlfriend's evolve carbon street - really fun, maybe more snowboard feeling because the board is way bigger. People see you as an extra terrestrial ! sorry for the quality, almost night + old iphone :D

Awesome update OKP! I really like what you did with the print on your enclosure.

High end quality right there!! Does the "P" stand for Picasso?

thanks ! in fact the original deck which is not already released to public is so beautiful that I had to do it justice. But well, this was quickly done without copy carbon or tracing paper... result is above my expectations but could have been way better.

I also painted the battery enclosure which was beautiful .... in its carbon looking pattern... :D

OKP is from okayplayer, a famous old school hip hop label (the roots, epmd, common ...!) good old days :)

I will post a full build this week, as I took progression photos of each step. The LEDs make it really outstanding when you put it on the ground.

this is what you need:

this is a enermax 3.5 hard drive enclosure; just searched a while before finding the one which was almost perfect. not a lot of holes, great empty space, the cover slides but you can just unplug it which is also top notch.

second item from the top. I bought it second hand for 10 euros (on a french shop)

http://www.enermax.fr/fr/boitiers-externes/65-1-c.html

as it could be opened from the top or bottom, you get this ultra space needed :D

hope it helps.

ps: there is no vinyl or stickers ! it's hand made !!!!! :D
