Just seen some videos on youtube on bloom energy server that uses solid oxide cells.
Check them out. Big companies like fedex are testing them now. Wonder if it'll make it to ev market in my lifetime. Sounds too good to be true. But its tiny. Something like a deck of cards plus a gas ( methane maybe propane) creates electric power in kilo watts.
Anyone seen it?
any thoughts?

Google uses some on their main campus too.

I'm not sure if they will be able to scale those things down to be put on a bike. But I would be happy with a home unit and just charge my pack with it. Batteries are getting better and they won't be going away anytime soon

Those Solid Oxide cells aren't batteries, they are Fuel cells. They are pretty amazing technology in their own right, but they still need a fuel source to produce electricity.
