GCinDC's Giant DH Comp

Hey Grey, why not get a complete winter front wheel built up for the in between seasonal weather so you can swap it out in 2 minutes rather than be subject to long term forecast, just an idea (you have probably already thought of).

Also I bought some Electra townie mud guards 26" due to them being the only fender to fit hookworm tyres. they look great but are going to be a pain in the backside to fit to my Scott Ransom. I need to make eyelet attachments for both the forks and IDS dropouts = ball-ache. Once done I should be ebike commuting to work too on a more regular basis.

When will you put your camera up front? Little variation please ;)
lol. w/ the dirty weather, front facing isn't an option, unless i stop to clean every 5 seconds, which i'm not gonna do... but i hear ya. may have something later tonight...

ebrake hall throttle for varyable regen...just like the throttle but with the white wire on the pigtail as the varyable wiper input?and with the same gnd and +5v on the other two wires in the hall throttle unit?
yes, i think so, and make sure to waterproof them after installing. i didn't and mine corroded, possibly shorted, and even tho i replaced the hall/wiring, and i get 5v across the GND/+, and 0-5V on the input (proven w/ DMM), the controller isn't recognizing it like it used to.. damn half ass moron i am..

got a tire in mind? the marathon winter is designed for that, and would be fine - i've kept them on thru the whole season before - it's not possible to provide the same dry weather traction as a hookworm, and i just loooooovvvve that. swapping the front wheels now takes me 5 min, so i'm ok w/ that. swapped it again this am since allex was beggin for some front-facing action... :p

ps. fun pic of my ride near the river w/o a rear fender from awhile back...

jeez, looks like i shat myself. ^ lol

bit of inbound, then left early to take kid to dentist, and the late lunch traffic is a bit all over the place...

and now just the last scene again...

Ah no Greg meant swapping pre built wheels over which you already do. ie 2 separate wheels. that must have been a scary ride to cover your seat in that much poooo.

Ever stopped by Mr. Law?
nope, but that'd be another good reason to wear the gopro chest mounted... :p

testing out the battery warmer here... made snug around pack with bungee. heats to around 80F IIRC. seems to work well, but don't think this will fix the adaptto cold issue..

Yeah both halls share 5v and ground connections. Only the signal lines coming back are separate. note on variable regen: it may actually draw power if you're going very slow or depress lightly enough. But only about a half amp in my experience.

Edit: my bad, replying to old post!

got my regen working. thanks guys :)

there was something stopping it working, so i got no response on the regen mapping screen by shorting the wires.

only after i switched the speed sense to 'off' in the regen setup, did i get it going.

not sure what the speed sense does.... :D

i did think i felt very very slight drag at low speed but i could have imagined it.

glad for ya. and a bit jealous since i messed mine.. :(

did some wiring yesterday:
- repaired the cut temp sensor wire on the hs3540 with the studded tire:

- put my throttle MOM switch (horn button?) on the precharge circuit (had bought a new MOM switch, but didn't like my mounting options, and didn't see using a horn anyway, and since i'd need two hands anyway, made sense to push throttle MOM switch - see display boot up and display ~60V, then flip the big switch..
- also finally installed my front LED w/ a hidden switch on batt pack.

ghetto front fender (a repurposed rear fender) and the rear fender is on w/ bungees since everytime i lean the bike against something, the zip ties break..

schools and gov't closed. driving snow on a base of sleet! fun commute. (and yes, allex, had to go rear-facing... )

woulda survived w/ MC tire on back, but nowhere near the same traction as the studded tire..
