Don't be put off by Luke's rantings. Unless it will fly you to Mars on 5 kWh of NanoTechs, he's going to find fault with it somewhere.
One thing is for sure, Kelly's controllers have been steadily improving. A rather crude way of determining whether it's going to be good or not (at least with the higher power stuff) is to look at the covering material. If it's black and boxy it's probably better than the previous model, which was silver and not as tall. I upgraded my 1200 A controller to the E series and it's a vastly superior product.
