Sure is nice when you find the sweet spot. I bet she has been waiting a long time for you to find that sweet spot.

Oh yes, its like a different bike.

Using the original controller that came with the kit. Yep switch to lipos yesterday, huge jump in performance.
Is is possible to show me your lipo set up ? for example, what chargers or cables are you using? How did you connect the lipos in parallel and series? How are you charging?

i'm thinking of using lipos also

Lipos
3 x http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__15008__Turnigy_5000mAh_5S_20C_Lipo_Pack_USA_Warehouse_.html

Power Supply / Charger
1 x http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__19680__HobbyKing_350w_25A_Power_Supply_100v_120v_USA_Warehouse_.html
1 x http://www.hobbypartz.com/75p-1220-charger.html

Connector:
Parallel Charge http://www.ebay.com/itm/Parallel-6x-HXT-4mm-Bullet-Charge-Cable-/390639720613?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5af3f118a5
Parallel Balance http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__27074__JST_XH_Parallel_Balance_Lead_5S_250mm_6xJST_XH_.html

I just followed the wiring diagram

http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/lipo.html
So for 15s its 3s1p

Lipos are so lightweight (3lbs) , the bike feels way more nimble than the lithium ions i have (13lbs)

How far does 15s 1p get you?

15s1p will get me maybe 7 miles if I pedal and take it slow. But since I'm racing cars and smoking them at the light, and going 35mph I get about 4-5miles. Its just temporary until I get another 15s pack so 15s2p, then eventually 20s2p

I'm having a hard time going past 40A, even though I added more solder to the shunt. Would have hit 35mph if I had more air in the tires.

Where are you going to get the 4mm bulltet 10awg parallel harness? I couldn't find any. I've only seen ones that are 14awg. Are you going to solder your own?

Do you have to have 10awg wires for charging, but I use this while riding

Nah not for charging...but for normal use, since you said you were going to use the 2 packs in parallel. 15s2p

Anyway, thanks, that adapter is just what i was looking for.
Do you know of any 3-to-1 4mm parallel harnesses? i haven't seen any at all. I'm looking to connect 3 parallel packs, 16s3p

Probably have to make one yourself or contact chris at http://lipoconnectionsolutions.com/

You only need to parallel the main wires at each end. Use parallel balance cables like these to parallel at cell level.

Best that I can do with 15s lipos

Im trying to get regen working, I already have the torque arms, will take picture of the controller and find out.

Custom made from steel, the other side has a removable aluminum dropout, I'm going to remake it in steel.

Hard to see it from that picture, Maybe a close up would help?

You made it yourself or paid someone to do it? If you made it yourself, what tools/materials did you use?

thanks for the reply/help.

Based off this design http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=49635

Printed out the paper template but it didn't my bike, so I took a steel plate, bend and cut with a rotary saw it to fit my bike.

Still on the original controller for now, but I beefed up the traces and added more solder to the shunt. Still on 15s, it would be easy to go to 20s but my controller can't handle it (63v caps)
Can I just replace the 63v caps with 100v and run 20s?

I am looking to join the 40mph and run high speed continously, would I need to get a bigger motor like a Crystalite?

No. Unless they've changed fets, they are limited to 68-75V If you want to go to 20s, I'd recommend a 72V 1500W controller. This one would do it.

Have them set lvc to 70V for 20s.

You bought the torque arms from him and resized it yourself, or you made completely from scratch using his template?

Also do you still that the pdf for that template? i've checked that website and i don't see the printable pdf he mentioned in the post

Now on 20s lipos, 4S2P hit 43mph today

If you're going to ride over 30mph, get out of the bike lane and into the street or you're going to become a statistic when someone doors you. And while I run stop signs under 10mph, running them at over 20mph is just stupid. Don't give ebikes a bad name and you'll live longer. Nice build though.

Great advice, I rarely ride on bike lanes anymore I usually just take the lane especially over 30mph, or when there isn't any cars behind me. Definately being stupid in this video for blowing past stop signs I usually slow down under 10mph at stops as well, look both ways, and point straight and go. Topping out 43.7mph the motor can probably eek out a 1-2 more mph I just let off to cool down the motor. The yescomusa motor is a great motor, but its getting warm especially over 3500w, probably time to upgrade to a Crystalyte.

Still on yescomusa motor but I upgraded to a 15fet 72v Greentime controller $49.95 off Aliexpress, works perfectly. Pulling 48Amps today with the shunt mod, full throttle got to 40mph+ very quickly and out accelerated 3 lanes of cars up to 41.3mph. Most of the time I wasn't even going full throttle, half throttle already takes me up to 30mph.

very cool, what guide did you follow to do the shunt mod? Also does that greentime controller have a lot of features like regen and etc? i was thinking getting one, or spending $100+ for an infenion controller on ebike.ca
