So...This time has come - my first message on ES after many months of just reading )))
I decided to build some kind of monowheel EV and there's a problem with bearing. ESC, battery, motor and so on....that's quite easy, a lot of information. But the bearings...I mean custom-made bearings like in SoloWheel or other project of this kind. You can't just go and buy it. It's really hard to start engineering something without any examples.
1) First of all: do you have some photos of the mechanical parts of SoloWheel, AirWheel, IPS or others? That would be great point to start from.
2) Can you recommend me some quality books or articles about this topic? Not just "how to choose the right bearing from the catalog" but how to design and calculate your own one.
3) Ok, let's imagine that I've allready done this job and I have all calculations, CAD models, etc. Where the production work could be done? The real part (bearing in this case about 300 mm ID) from the real steel. Do you any manufacturers who can afford this? In Russia it sometimes really hard to find some kinds of materials (like high quality steel or 6xxx Alu) for your projects (I don't understand why, actually
