i got to pay $100 for this tomorrow. I may need to change the stickers to disguise it cause it's a little warm.

Respect just went through the floor.

Maybe you'll understand if the day after you finish your Hubzilla project, someone nicks it, and occasionally rides past your house at 50mph, but you can't catch them, because you're stuck with your 25mph bike.

In my eyes now, you're nothing but a common thief. I regret sending you anything and giving you any help at all.

Stolen too?

I dont really give a crap about the bike. I would give it back to the owner if i knew who it was. if i did not buy it someone else would have. I just bought a 2002 chevy Malibu for $500 and am moving into a three bedroom apartment that I just paid $1300 650 rent and 650 security.

i did not steal the dam thing so i am not a thief. I am not building the damm thing either. It is just a pedal bike that will probably sit in a spare bedroom and collect dust.

As far as who respects me or not there is not much I can do. DA hates me and called me an idiot and now Sunder hates me so I guess I am done here.

I have more important things to do anyway. Like moving. I have enough e bikes. I don't need to build any more of them. I will return the Damm bike to where I got it. cheap junk anyway. No good for a 3 kilowatt motor. This my last post. Thanks.

hell no!, I am not just a thief now but also a liar. Basically I bought the car off the same person and when I showed her the $160 price tag she threw in the bike and the computer for $600. She lives down the block where I am moving and has about five kids. I don't want the damn thing. I got $3,000 left in the bank and am certainly not taking any more out to build a 40 mph bike when I will soon have three functioning e bikes and a car on the road.

I am not even keeping the bike. In fact the kids who got the bike can have the piece of shit back if they help me to move my shit. I want absolutely no part of the bike. It is not even worth putting a motor on. My Schwinn I bought for $40 used is worth more than that. I never met you guys but whatever relationship we do have friend wise is worth more to me than some cheap mountain bike. Also the red chopper I bought about a year ago was stolen too and I gave it back to the dude I got it from and got my money back. that dude is in jail now and going to prison for grand theft auto.

As far as the neighborhood kids down the block , and there are about four or five of them. I don't think any one of them are going to tell on themselves. They will get the bike back when they move all my shit. I am not going to be made to feel guilty for what one of them could have done did. I am not their father, baby sitter or their probation officer. I am simply a disabled person who needs to move and cant be lifting everything with a bad ticker.

You won't see another picture of that bike as I will never put a motor on or ride it. It will go back to where it came from. I have no idea who the original owner is or in fact that it is really stolen. When I talked to them I said Where did it come from? There answer was Pattersonville which is about six miles away. on the other side of the mohawk river. I said it better not have been around here! All I got was stupid grins and them shaking their heads no. Nobody came out and admitted stealing it. they are not that stupid. Real shady business  .

At least I got the title for the car signed and it is clean with a bill of sale. Also I can drive with their plates and insurance for two weeks until they get another car. I got the better part of the deal and it needs a new hood and front end work and someone I am friends with is already paid to do it. As far as the computer it was the ladies home computer and she just got a quad core.

As far as posting there really wont be much to post anyway as I have to get insurance now and deal with motor vehicles plus moving. ect. There wont be much time or money for further e bike projects. The Diamondback is almost finished and I will finish the 24" build with a 65T spoke kit. After that I have no further plans for projects. Thanks.

And thus ends the longest thread in Endless Sphere's history.

As the Hub Motor Turns and the LiPo Fire Burns. Not so fast!!!

A friend of Doug's is on his way over now to do the brakes on the Diamond Back.

I will need to do test runs.

Also The 24" bike with the 65T spoke kit will need a video or two posted.

To everyone in that neighborhood and this one I am a genius who builds electric bikes. I have about a dozen or more people who say HI to me just going from here to there which is about eight blocks. Also the Electric City Bike Rescue club is downtown and expanding and moving closer. And then there is Doug on the other side of town now. I have had three different people ask me to build them bikes. Perhaps I can recommend you guys and have them join this post for proper instructions from you guys as I would really have something to feel guility about if I built them a bike and they got hurt on it.

I have many other sources for acquiring bikes. I will find one strong enough for a 3 kilowatt rear hub motor. I got a car now to travel to the bike rescue in Albany and Troy now. Also I got $832 coming and $3,000 left in the bank so the way I see it this post has only just begun. Kind of like that old love song. " we have only just begun"

It is nice work. I got a car now and once it is fixed up and I get full triple A roadside assistance. I can stop over to see you and you can help build me one. :D

Gas is cheap enough these days. It is a mid sized car with a six cylinder I think. Don't know it could be a four. It is still parked across the street about half a mile down the road. I rode the 20" e bike home. Don't plan on driving it until I start moving in Friday. :D

These two that were here say they can build a complete bike from parts in 30 min or less. They claim to be better than Doug. They also want to start a bike shop.

I also have a huge front and back porch but it is second floor. A very huge attic and access to a garage in the back which is falling down. I have plans to scrap metal with the car. I am looking for a trailer and hitch. I saw a couple 20" frames on the way home. I got three bedrooms. I can dedicate a whole room for bikes, parts and tools instead of spreading them all over the apartment like here.

Thanks.

I never called you an idiot!
I merely pointed out how ignorant your assertion was and how your reasoning, or lack thereof, left more than a little to be desired.
If you were then, more objectively, able to recognize yourself as an idiot ... well, that's on you!

Hate you?
Don't care enough to hate you, don't waste my energy hating anyone!
Hate is the killer of logic and reasoning.

IMO - I have shown incredible tolerance and patience in trying to help you ... even though it involves constantly repeating myself and, seems like, fighting against you ... to help you!

Thanks DA for that. I appreciate the help. I just took a short run and the deal is sealed. One of the crew is down for six trips by car for my fish tanks ( about six that are empty) other various hobby type stuff that can get wet and all the bikes and frames I am currently not using and the bike that may still be a little warm is going straight back to one of the bunch. (not the brady bunch) lol. I picked the kid who looks like he can actually get some work done.

I don't think Sunder realizes where I live. It is called the hood. Just about everyone who I associate with are x felons and most have been to prison. I don't really know too many people who have not been to jail. The only way I can describe it is to go watch a few episodes of Trailor Park Boys. The show is on NetFlix now. It centers around a trailer park in Nova Scotia Canada.

These little idiots are called gang bangers and I drink beer with their parents behind stewart's and down by the river. it is what it is. parents are in and out of jail and these kids wont listen. It is against the law to hit kids now days so they are just buck wild. The kid you gave a quarter or 50 cents to five years ago is out stealing everything that is not nailed down today.

That is a true story about that big red chopper that dude bought for $60. Worth five or six hundred easily. I posted pictures of it. That dude was like 32 years old and Guyanese.
I painted for him in an apartment for about 4 hours some slum lord hired him to do and he gave me the bike. He only paid $60 for it and helped him load it in his truck.

The next day I asked him for a receipt in case the cops pulled me over and he got pissed off and we had words. I brought him the bike back and two days later he handed me $45. Why? Because I know a lot of people and if he did not pay me lots of people would stop doing other business with him. Also he is out of business and on his way to prison for grand theft auto. The dude cant drink. I talk about going 50 mph with an e bike when I have a few. that idiot starts breaking into cars.

If Donald Trump gets to be president that dude wont get out of prison here to steal again. He will be on a slow boat back to Guyana   . I will be doing a test run for the Diamond Back tomorrow. I will also be picking up a second bike lock so I can use two minimum with that bike. You never know around these parts. That way I am going is the better end of the hood though. Kind of like gunsmoke at Dodge city. :D Here bullets fly around more than down in those there parts. Thanks.

Rate that on a warm to hot scale. level ten being smoke and fire. :D $60 cash paid.

The one I returned to the dude that paid the $60 the following day.

I felt like an idiot riding it around the block. Might just as well bolt a huge 7 foot sign to the frame PULL ME OVER. STOLEN BIKE.

I almost slugged it out with the dude when I asked for a receipt. I gave it back to him and got $45 for my trouble.

Don't know if Sunder saw that post or not.

About a year ago at least.

Mate, I grew up in the local government area that had the highest crime rate in Australia.

In 15 years, I had two cars, one motorcycle, a laptop and my wallet stolen, some while I was not there, some violent robbery. All of that had proper security on it, but out of that list, only one of the cars were insured. (The second car wasn't insured because the insurance company wouldn't offer insurance unless I put better security at my house after the first theft. The motorcycle wasn't insured because the insurance was nearly 1/2 the cost of the bike - a $3000 bike, with an insurance bill of $1200. I found out later that they're the most stolen motorcycle in Australia). Insurance when I moved from that suburb to a nicer one, once I was earning enough money dropped from $6k a year to about $2400 a year. That's what the place was like. In total, I probably lost about 50-60k worth of my gear to thieves.

So if you expect me accept any of your bullshit that "If you didn't buy it, someone else would have", you're sadly mistaken.

Like DA said, I don't hate you. I don't hold you personally responsible for any of my losses, but I also lost a fair bit of respect for you. To me, you used to be just a battler, dealt a bad hand, doing the best you could. But the willingness to knowingly buy stolen goods changes that. You're not just living in the hood. You're part of the hood.

Yea ok but I am not doing it any more. I am finished with that sort of thing Sunder. I grew up with the background. Spent lots of time locked up in the 80s. I have not been in trouble in about 20 years with law enforcement.

My felon was a firearm conviction in 86. Moving armor dude. My rap sheet would go from the ceiling to the floor.three assaults on police. At least a dozen burglaries. I was as crazy as a shithouse rat. Never killed anyone though but sure messed up a few people with fists and beer bottles.None of them was during burglaries or the victims. A couple were over the share of the loot. I don't live that life any more. I met the ol lady in 97. I changed.

I had mad connections but washed dishes for over 10 years and worked for labor ready before that for minimum wage. Worked for peanuts and lived poor running around with pedal bikes with no brakes or shitty brakes and maybe a few two or three hundred dollar vehicles here and there. Evicted from at least a dozen apartments and losing everything numerous times. I have stayed at more homeless shelters than I can count on my fingers and toes.

I could have returned to the life of Cadillacs, two, plus a van and waking up in the morning not able to open my trailor bedroom door as it was filled with shit I sent two clowns out on a mission to get the night before. I was a straight up gangster dude. I had it down to an art plus three chicks in three different towns. That was the 80s and early to mid 90s. I don't roll the same way anymore.

I got my disability and got a bad ticker as well as many other problems including mental. They don't give disability to everyone here. You need to be disabled and go to court to prove it which I did. I don't need to go that route to build a fast bike. What I am saying is people can change. I never told you I was a saint.

I never met you but you helped me out and I am not getting anything else that may be questionable from any source period. Return to sender as they say now is what I am basically doing. After that I am done with it. I don't like losing respect. Respect is more important than most material things. Or most luxuries. (things I could live without).

I can buy me a low to mid end down hill bike with the money I got left in my bank. That is if I really want one. I kind of need a stereo system for my car though. I can get that on e bay, Craigslist or the local pawn shop. I don't need to go to the kid on the corner. You just changed my way of thinking Sunder. Thanks.

" I didn't steal it! " ...
Someone who knowingly buys stolen items is actually supporting and encouraging more theft.

As a computer store owner-operator I am often faced with the dilemma of proper ownership of computers etc brought to me (for me to purchase).
I insist on a 24 hour minimum test period ... (for contacting rental businesses, police etc.)
I only ever pay for anything by check with a description in the memo area (make model serial #).
Sad to say, multiple criminals have gotten arrested while carrying away stolen items I declined to purchase.
Latest candidate:

Combined with a suspicious demeanor, there are some indications that the kid who brought this in might not be the legal owner.
Looks like the original owner was afraid his computer might get stolen?

Dude ! most of the boxes I get are out of the trash. People throw out a lot of computers around here. Doug gets three or four a week from people who pay him to build new towers. towers here are dime a dozen. No need to steal any tower. However that lock thing in the picture is most familiar. seen that several different times at about three different peoples houses just posting on this forum alone in the past two years. Just using someone's laptop.

You have no idea how ridiculous Schenectady NY. is do you.

What is the real reason why I hardly ever take out the Schwinn. It will be the same with the Diamondback. I will need about three or four locks minimum. Wall- Mart and places with cameras I can get away with one lock.

Worked on the Diamond Back until about 8 AM. tired. Felt like sleeping until 5 PM. but got things to do. Doing a video of the Diamondback running hopefully. Going to see if my piece of shit car is still parked where it was yesterday or it got stolen. :D

Just got a $500 offer on the Diamondback and have not even run it yet. i just hooked up the SLAs and made the wheel spin.
Got my camera and shooting the video now. Thanks.

Felt like the wheel was frocked up at first. Very sensitive throttle. Got to go really gently or pedal a little before engaging the throttle.

Superb up hills though. It might even go up Crane st. hill.

Got to start moving stuff. Landlady called and is irate. She is showing up here in a day or so. It may not end well. I will have lots of room on my new back porch to store bike parts and work on e bikes. I can also start building furniture again. I love woodworking. I got a carload to take over to the garage. Huge garage to store metal for scrapping when the prices go up. Car has a hitch. Will get a small trailer. Its good for about 300lbs. It has a good running 4 banger in there. Thanks.

That bike is also on a security camera. The Dude downstairs had about $5,000 worth of stuff stolen so got his taxes and ordered security. Both front and rear exits protected. A 60" plasma TV , A $400 Laptop, A PS4, hundreds of dollars worth of games ect. Dude has been robbed quite a few times since I have known him. Nothing there anywhere is stolen where I am moving as probation comes there regularly for the oldest kid. Also the dude across the street is a retired cop.

I also found out today that the shady people down the block are moving out as their father went to jail and they can't pay the rent. I returned the bike in question and got $50 back. Maybe they can sell it for $100 towards their next place  the kid said he will help me move some stuff this weekend. Imagine that! He wont I am sure. Probably be in jail by then. 18 so no juvie. Think already played that card.
The thing is you cant bullshit me. Been there done all that. So what if I am out $50. I would rather have respect on this forum than a cheap bike.

I am actually moving out of the hood now and that is a good thing. Thanks.

LC. out.

Good to see you did if not the right thing, something better than keeping the bike. Turning it into the police was another option, but then you risked being charged.

Maybe you're right on one thing, but the other way around. Maybe in the hood it is the done thing to buy and sell stolen goods all the time. But maybe you don't realise that almost everyone who's lived in a bad area has been robbed or burgled - or in DA's case, handled or rejected stolen goods. Nobody who's been a victim - and that's almost everyone - who doesn't also steal or buy stolen stuff themselves, is going to respect someone who is willing to buy something stolen.

Let's just get over this - good luck with the move, and we'll catch up again when you're back to building e-Bikes.

Bike Thieves can be entertaining!

packing and moving. The first new project when I get settled in is the 24" Huffy with the 48V motor and controller on the back. I will be ordering the 65T spoke kit from Kings Custom sprockets. The bike will also need brakes installed. Not using those two clowns from Doug's again. They did an ok job but kept wanting more money. Kind of greedy. I may try to learn to do brakes myself.

I also found the missing 9T #25 motor sprocket I ordered awhile back when packing. If I want to use the new controller at 24V with the 500W motor on the front of another 20" bike with the 80T wheel sprocket it will be geared the same as the Diamond Back. 16 mph. I got to do another video with the Diamond Back. I deleted the last as it came out really shitty. It had lots of power though and great up hill like DA said.

Now though I have a lot of packing and moving to do. I talked to the Super and think I got an agreement to be out on the 15th. Not ordering anything until then. I think the other 10 to 50V variable controller I think. Never took time to open it. Wondering where that 10.0 6s Lipo pack is. Going to e bay and g mail now to find out. Thanks.
