Looks much better. Mount the tire and put the wheel back on the bike.
Make sure the torque arms are on and secured. You might be surprised how well a hub motor can pull you from a start. Ride IT!

I have an appointment downtown with my disability counselor at City hall today. 3 PM. Almost every night around midnight I get really tired It could be my BP pills and my lack of testosterone as I have no doctor to prescribe that anymore so I am even lazier then when I was on androgel.

Most nights I start drinking beer about midnight and take a few puffs of the wacky stuff :lol: and then take these pills about 3 AM. The combination keeps me up well past dawn and have been watching the Amazon Firestick until 8 or 9 AM and sleeping until 5 or 6 PM sometimes even 7PM. It is a very bad habit.
However getting up at 8AM like now is also too early as there is nobody around and the ol lady will continue to sleep until at least 2 or 3 PM as she stays up until 5 or 6 AM either way. Anyway I did the rust converter last night about 1AM and just put my first coat of paint today.
As far as living forever and what DAN said about NOT wanting another 60 years I don't agree. A lot of people who want to die early or just give up and kill themselves do not really want to die. They just do not like the way their life is going. More often than not they do not have the power to change it. The governments or the establishment put us all in one type of class or another. poverty. middle and upper and the elite classes.
Everything revolves around some type of currency. I am so low income I cannot afford a motor vehicle to see my son who only lives about an hour away. However am better off than my x girlfriend Brenda who I was with back in the 90s. Life was great back then. She was about 95 pounds with a hot little body and we did things farm animals don't even do. :lol: :lol:
Today she recently turned 55 and suffered a massive stroke about 18 months ago and cant move but one hand and is about 160 lbs at 4 feet 11 inches and stuck in a wheelchair. I have been to see her about a month ago and twice last year. I am 52 years old and have been with Mary for 20 years next month. She is 74 years old but is in better health than me but smokes way too many ciggeretts.
The thing about getting old is you run out of time. I have many regrets. One is not finishing college and learning more. the other is never being in the military and getting to travel to other countries.
I would love to see Europe, Africa and Australia. I have never been with a Chinese girl :lol: :lol: The list goes on.
The main thing that makes people want to give up is losing loved ones. Seeing those around you that you care about (friends and family) pass on everyone wants to think that when we die we will be with them. However not everyone shares that same vision. It could very well be a fantasy. One of the songs I listened when I grew up and the song that I hate the most except for Johnny Cash death song he sung before he died (I hurt myself today) that is the worst ever but Dust in the wind is a close runner up.
I may not be a genius but I do not see anything remotely good about death. It is final and the end. Nothing but pitch blackness. And whats worse is many suffer before it is over for years sometimes. Strokes, heart attacks Dementia and Altimeters. And then you have to see your body fall apart basically. Arnold Swarchineeger will shed more than a tear as he keeps growing older and loses more and more muscle he worked sooooo hard to get. So will everyone who took the time and energy to build their bodies.
This is why it is so sad that human immortality and life extension research and development is not mainstream and the most important thing in human history. Instead it is considered the natural way or order of things. Life insurance, A place for mom, Reverse mortgages, funeral arraignments and burial plots.
Please excuse me if I am not interested or impressed with those things or all the bible thumpers out there who keep on preaching of Heaven and life after death with not even a shred of proof any of it exists. Just words written by men who have been dead for thousands of years and are now just fragments of bones or Dust in the Wind.

I have a ton of stuff I want to do today and will probably get soaking wet walking as I am not riding anything electric in a rainstorm. Bad luck is another reason why people want to die. :lol: :lol:
PS. again. I took a long walk I usually do at 8 PM and now the sun is out and chased all the clouds away. I did a second coat of paint and am going to try and get the Schwinn ready by 2:30 for the trip downtown to City hall. I would like to do a video if possible.

I know what you are saying about spreading the forks. I just hooked it up and did a test with the throttle front wheel off the ground and forgot how much snot that it had. Yes the torque arms are installed but am not happy with the lawyers lip.
The torque arms from the other bike had the horseshoe shaped thing and fit inside the lawyers lip but was not flush with it so could not use it.
To be honest I wish I had different forks with no lawyers lip but for now it will have to work. I really need to be careful with the throttle. I will try to get a good pedal start. Also I think the speedo. is going to do lots of shaking. If it is unreadable I may have to put it on the rear basket and camera facing behind me. We will see. Anyway I need to go as I have some ground to cover. I got the front brake shoe back on and am hitting Doug's house when I am done downtown. I will post the video here on this post when I get back.

Yea. The only way I will be able to mount that camera and speedo. is on the back facing backwards as if it faces forwards my body will be in the way of view. Also it still might shake as there is a broken spoke probably from the Time I flipped it two years ago coming back from Home Depot. It was dark and the shoulder of the road had a big chunk out of it. Since then they re paved it.
I do not see me going over 20 mph the way it runs now. I will need the spoke fixed and a more comfortable seat. Thanks.

One of the things I go to City Hall for is to try to get back in college. The other is subsidized housing and the other is medical. Trying to find a new doctor willing to prescribe my medicine.
My life is a constant struggle just to get basic necessities but I am still better off than a lot of people out there and definitely better off than those who cannot wipe their own behinds so it is not all doom and gloom for me.
When I get new forks that do not have the lawyers lip I will see if I can fix the spoke. The thing that holds the spoke in was rattling around in the rim when I was changing the tire. The wheel wobbles a little and will not get a decent video out of it especially with the camera on the front.
I wont be attempting 30 mph on that bike any time soon. You guys were right about a fast front motor being dangerous. that is the only e bike I got hurt on but it was riding in the dark with no light and a broken section of the road at fault. Not the motor or front wheel. I have not rode the bike much since that happened about two years ago. I was running an ice cube tray with alligator clips back then and that set up survived the crash better than I did. :lol: I had bruised ribs for weeks and it hurt a lot when I coughed. The rear chain drive feels more safe at speeds over 20 mph though.
I think for high speeds on a bicycle lower to the ground and lower center of gravity is better. My feet need to be able to touch the ground. I am afraid going fast on a larger bike higher up. I feel I have less control of the bike. The Death bike I believe has 20" wheels right ? It sure is not a 26" or 700cc.
For now I will be uninstalling the speedo. as there is no way I am attempting 30 mph with the Schwinn. It is still safe and reliable up to 20 mph though. Just not any faster until I get a new spoke put in the wheel. Thanks for posting.

:lol:The Currie is the only bike I would go over 30 mph with right now. The Currie is my first e bike and may be better than all of my conversions. However at 6S LiPo it is only good for 13.5 mph.
i could hook up the 10.0 - 6S pack and the 8.0 - 6S pack together. I will calculate top speed. the gear reduction motor is only turning 320 rpm at 24V. It is rated at 750 watts and 480 rpm at 36V.
1. 24 volts @ 320 rpm = 500 watts and 13.5 mph.
2. 48 volts @ 640 rpm - 1,000 watts and 27 mph.

I so did not want to have that image in my head...
One thing I've realised lately, is that you can want something, but if you're unmotivated to get it, tou'll convince yourself one of two ways. You don't want it after all or it's not possible. Nobody ever seems to acknowledge that they just weren't willing to pay the price. I think I am the same, and its time for reflection and adjustment to my life.
You know that shift workers live on average 10 years shorter than day workers, right? This is even eliminating work place accidents which happen at a higher rate to those who work against their body clock.
I've just had a clean blood test, which has finally shown my cholesterol is back down to the high end of normal, but I want it down even lower, and I want to raise my cardiovascular fitness. But I keep putting it off with excuses. I am tired from work. Time with family is more important. I need a few more days to recover from this flu... I guess I need to decide how badly I want it.

However then I gave it some thought and if a 48 volt 1,000 watt Unite motor turns 3,000 rpm and this brush-less motor only turns 2,250 rpm at 24 volts and 900 watts then I am guessing it wont matter much that it is over-geared at 48 volts because it is going to go like hell.

Bike shop is working I guess. I traded a 29" mongoose bike and three Huffy dual suspension 26" frames with two rims for that.
next deal is the Diamondback outlook another complete dual suspension huffy and a columbia 26" mountain bike for a top of the line hybrid.

I have always wanted one so I traded three huffy dual suspension bikes one complete. I told you awhile ago that my friend Doug has to get rid of most of his bike parts as his landlord is removing his back porch because the foundation is shot and he has three babies and four adults living in a three bedroom. Also as scrap metal went down bikes piled up out in the garage and the landlord here made the guy downstairs clean out the garage and basement.
I got to pick and choose what I want and guess there is more as Doug is getting rid of a storage unit so the bikes I traded I will be getting the same amount back if not more. I got all my bikes hanging up on hooks so they do not take up floor space and the front and back porch here does not block any of the fire exits so I am good.
It is not an official bike shop but could be with everything I got. Then there is the old man who collects cans and bottles (Beetle juice) he pays $6 a day to sleep inside a monistary. he picks bikes up all over the City and often sells me one for $6 to $12 bucks and sometimes for a bag of empty cans. :lol: People just abandon bikes. I saw a good 20" Huffy out in the garbage riding home from Doug's house yesterday so I do not believe that most of these bikes are stolen. Doug does not steal and it is hard to tell what was left on the side of the road due to a flat or a chain coming off.
the Chopper came from a guy who owned a pawn shop and the bike was in the store for awhile before he closed up. He has a garage full of parts and five kids so is fixing up bikes for them. It is not my job to be a detective. I ask any kid I get a bike from "Are you sure it is not stolen" If they say yes I do not buy it. Once it goes in a scrap metal pile though then it sits for a year or two and all of those have problems so most likely were abandoned. The problems consist of missing chains , brake parts bent wheels flat tires ect. Then you have to realize that these kids take parts off of those to fix the bikes they are riding so when I hang them up on my back porch it is nothing but a frame usually. I leave bent up rusty wheels and frames out in the pile.
About two weeks ago an entire pick up truck with racks went to the scrap yard with old bikes and parts and other scrap metal. I have also fixed up three bikes and gave them to Beetle juice this summer but the best bike I got from him is the old classic bike 1960s vintage he said. He claims he got it for $20 at a flea market in Saratoga NY. I paid him $10 and owe him a bag of cans. He got beat up by a few black folk last week and they took one of his bikes. They got caught and hauled off to jail. The police body slammed one across the street.
I saw the old guy at Wall-Mart and he said they have been harassing him for years. He goes dumpster diving and finds all sorts of stuff grocery stores and department stores throw away. They steal that stuff also from him he said. they got out of jail a few days later so I told the old man not to come around so he does not get beat up. Hopefully those people will move. I don't think they have power over there and are probably behind in their rent.
It was close to 100 degrees today so I slept ALL DAY :lol: :lol: It is 7:41 PM here. The old packs are fully charged and in series so the Schwinn is ready to go when I am. I don't do 90 degrees though. Too hot to run LiPo in that hot cash box. Check out my chopper. i might put that 1800 watt brush less motor on the back of that. Thanks.

PS. That is the 1960s vintage bike. It rides nice. I pedaled it home from the corner store. Looks like enough room in the triangle for a decent size motor. maybe the FX motor will fit. I wonder how fast it would go before falling apart. :lol: :lol: Think it would do 100 mph ? It would set a world record for that year bike for sure. Anyone want to help me build it. :lol: :lol:

Sounds like a lot of self justification going on there... The only reason that someone would abandon a bike because it has a flat, is because they stole it in the first place. Seriously, think about it. Would YOU abandon even a cheap $300 bike you paid good money for, because it has a $6 flat? Yeah right.
Here we have a process for abandoned bikes. Council has to wait a month if it's chained up, or some short time if it's not. That system you have over there does not happen here.
Police are more concerned with stolen cars than bikes and most of these bikes around here are from Wall-Mart and cost less than $150 new. Also I have found several bikes with flat tires and bent handlebars just sitting. Also trucks go around and pick them up for scrap metal. I have saw trucks with dozens of bikes going down to the scrap yard. People throw bikes out on garbage night. Not $300 bikes but bikes that cost around $100 new at Wally world.
I do not know where Doug gets all his bikes but I have never known him to steal. He fixes cell phones , tablets , game councils and desktop computers and trades bikes all the time for those and other bikes. If I were to check the serial numbers on every bike I get I would not have time to do much else.
Also around here the police will lock you up quick if you try to be a good Samaritan. If by chance a bike was reported stolen the guy returning it will be charged with possession of stolen property. basically if it is not the mayors or police chiefs son's $1,000+ downhill ride the cops around here could care less. they would rather go directly to the Dun kin donuts drive thru then waste their time pulling someone over for a $100 stolen bicycle. There are shootings and punks selling crack and heroin to school children in these neighborhoods and that takes all the cops time to deal with. the good cops are out there trying to save lives. Not worry about kids bicycles.
Also even my 24" cargo bike gets locked up whenever I go in any store. Even if it is to get one thing and the checkout is in view of the bike. I do not feel sorry for anyone careless enough to just leave a bike unlocked here in the city. People like that are promoting crime and more guilty then the people just trying to find a good home for a bike which has had numerous owners. I am sure that the electric city bike club downtown which has hundreds of bikes that are donated do not have time to check the serial numbers on each one of the bikes. Also as many times as I have gone there I never saw any police there looking for anything stolen.
I have three bike locks and use them all. If someone cuts a chain or picks a padlock that is stealing. Anyone dumb enough to leave a bike laying around unlocked deserves to get it stolen and like I said I am not playing detective however due to the condition and model of most of these bikes I doubt many are stolen but there could be a couple. It is difficult to tell. Obviously none of them are Cannon-dales or downhill mountain bikes. I have about 20 bikes including frames and they are Huffy, Schwinn's, mongooses ect. Bikes you would find common at a yard sale for $20. That chopper however is nice and not common. Hopefully it was not stolen. I don't see it as a good thing that you're disposing of the stolen bikes for money, but if you can actually keep to the commitment of not buying any more for whatever reason, it's a start. Reducing the demand for stolen goods has to have some sort of minor impact on the desire to steal it. Although likely a lot of them will still get stolen for personal use, then just abandoned. But at least then, there's a chance of getting back to the rightful owner, and it's the government (hence tax payer) that benefits from it, if they do have stolen/lost good auctions there. (I suspect they do exist and you just don't know about them. They've existed pretty much in any place I've looked at, including New York City, so why NY state wouldn't have them is beyond me).

I find it much preferable do one or two things well, than a dozen things poorly. I'm at one extreme, and a friend I went to school with is at the other. We both studied computing science, but he got bored in 2nd year, and decide to try his hand at a few other things. 20 years later, I'm in the C-Suite, he's still doing odd jobs. It's funny how it plays out in other ways as well. We play MMO games together too. He has like 15 characters which are all weak, I have like 2 - one I play with him, and the other that's virtually unstoppable.
So get that dirt bike frame. Make the Tesla of dirt bikes. Focus on each part at a time - get the drive train right before doing the brakes, don't move on from the brakes until they're safe. Then get suspension right, etc.

It seems that the front hub motor on the Schwinn took more damage then I thought in that crash two years ago. The front wheel shakes a lot and has one broken spoke that I see. As you know the local bike shops DO NOT work on anything electric so I will need to order a new spoke and fix it myself. If I order an inexpensive truing stand will it work for the front hub motor ? Also where will I order a spoke for a hub motor ? Is there any way e bay would have it as I would like to fix the hub motor.
It was my perfect build before I hit that broken section of rode riding after dark and flipped the bike. It still runs as I just rode it to Doug's to drop off a 26" front rim as his friend Logan ran into a tree and bent the hell out of the front rim of the GT that I passed back to Doug for a 26" Huffy Dual suspension mountain bike. I believe that Logan owns the bike now. Logan said the brakes failed. I saw the tree at the bottom of State st. hill. The tree did not move any. :lol: The rim looks like a train wreck. :lol: Logan is lucky he was not hauled off in the meat wagon. :lol: I think Logan stays with Doug and rides the bike to work. Doug needs to put down the 360 game controller and pick up an allen wrench and focus on fixing the brakes on the GT before poor Logan kills himself. Thanks\\

You could true a wheel using nothing more than an upside down chair, a way to stick the wheel onto the chair's legs, a straight stick and a spoke wrench (or even a set of pliers if you were desperate)
All you really need is something to allow the wheel to spin freely while being held still, and a fixed reference point which you can move close to the wheel to detect which way it's bowing.

Doug says I don't need a truing stand either however I have to disagree on that. I have five e bikes and plan on building at least one more. The Haro V3. that is 12 wheels and 10,000 potholes at least here in Schenectady. If it were a one time thing it would be different but there really is no sense of doing it the hard way if it has to ,be repeated many times.
I have always been a stickler for the right tool for the job. I do not like to improvise all the time. Just sometimes if I don't feel like waiting 6 weeks for a package in the mail or for home depot to open ewhen it is midnight and I need a certain size bolt.
Also I will need a link to order the spoke. Not sure if I need to measure it or what but obviously it is a lot shorter than a normal hub in a wheel. I need to replace the spoke then true the wheel with a truing stand. I may order the truing stand on the first of October. please let me know if you know where to get the spoke.
I may do a video with the Currie at 12S LiPo. I have a feeling that it could be the quickest bike from zero to 27 mph. I will have some issues as to where to mount the camera and I will need to see what the chain is doing over 20 mph. I do not want it coming off and doing damage to me

No Truing stand needed. Use the bike. A truing stand doesn't tru it, YOU do. Turn the bike upside down and it is ready to be your Truing stand.
As for a replacement spoke, You will need to remove one and measure it or take it to the bike shop and have them do it. A spoke is a spoke if not connected to the hub. It is probably a 12guage which might not be a stock item for the shop. You can use a 14gauge and nipple if needed. All the wheels I have built for my Ebikes are 14gauge. Haven't broken any in years.
Putting around at 20? How far is a ride for you? What 2 maybe 4 miles. Yesterday I ran a pack 12s 4ah pack 10 miles and they are at 3.75 per cell. That pack is from the same group I sent you 3 years ago. I ran at 20 most of the run, including up a couple decent hills. So you want to run 60mph for a mile or two. You sure would stand out at that speed as you blow thu lights and stop signs (because your brakes don't work). You are riding illegal as it is, make it even more reason to ban us all from the streets and bike paths. As I told you before, I have done 40mph on a stable bike and I don't care to do it anymore. I too was a speed freak and I still like the feeling of the hard acceleration my rides have but only up to 20MPH!!
Back to the Truing stand. DON"T waste YOUR money, It doesn't make it any better if YOU don't know how to do it in the first place. Take one uf your wobbly wheels and tru it on a bike and learn. Then if you want to BUILD your own wheels have at it.
