Does anyone have more info on the following?????

I can't say much about the motor, other than it looks promising but also howlingly expensive. If we assume the power rating on that is 20kW continuous, then it could be useful, considering an air-cooled ME0913 runs about $800 for 12kW continuous, 30 peak and weighs about 40lbs. Ganging two ME0913s together would cost about 20% less than an HPM-20KW (1600 USD vs about 2000 USD for the HPM) and give ypu 20% more power (24kW continuous vs 20 for the HPM), but you'd have a weight and complexity penalty (two ME0913s combined weigh the same as an HPM, but you'd need to add 10-15lbs to your vehicle in the form of an extra controller and a gearbox for combining the two motors' torque outputs). If that's 20kW peak, then forget it; you're better off with a single ME0913 for half the price.

As for the controller, it looks nice but is also howlingly expensive; $2000 for 72V 700A phase is a lot of money, especially since you can currently get a South Korean 350A phase Sevcon for $430 shipped, and you could build a 36-IGBT (power stage good for 7-900A phase at 3-400V) Lebowski controller for about $500 worth of IGBTs and gate drivers. A 48-FET Lebowski using IRFP4568s would require about $260 worth of FETs and another hundred or so in gate drivers, but would be able to push 800-1200A phase at up to 125V battery side. Kelly actually can't quite beat them, though; their biggest controller is 500A phase continuous, 1000A peak whereas this thing appears to be claiming 700A continuous phase current.

Will be a very interesting motor if it can be wound for custom kv rating. Atleast they have a cooling plate attached to each side of the motor. I bet it will still need to be pulled apart to remove the layer of paint, smooth it out and put some thermal paste in there.

I wonder if it's designed to have a drive shaft just slip into the motor.

Miles or anyone else have any suggestions on how to pull the most power out of this motor and how much total power it could handle? Atm i am looking at doing a awd car project and this motor is one high up on the list of motors to use. 1 motor for each corner.

I have asked golden about custom winds, they are even happy to wind it for 1500rpm at 400V. But after been bluntly told it would lower the power output of the motor i am no longer sure thats the best way. But i dont really want to go back to the idea of a chain drive to the half shafts or even a reduction box.
