Question for VESC hardware expert.

This question is related to the built in ON/OFF switch on a flipsky 75200 pro V2. When examining the hardware I don't see anything that resembles the components in a typical external anti spark switch. So what is the key button actually doing? Just cutting off the power supply to the control board? And if so, why would this feature not be on other controllers like the 75350 water cooled version?

I believe that button on the controller just turns on and off the buck convertor on the controller to remove the power from MCU. I do not think there is a circuit with MOSFETS cuts the battery power completely from the controller and the controller bulk capacitors. If you want completely remove the battery power from the controller you need to unplug it manually or better use a battery with BMS with integrated turning ON/OF function.

I think tpehak is right about buck converter.

...why would this feature not be on other controllers like the 75350 water cooled version?

It is just feature Flipsky decided not add.

Thanks guys. I figured as much as well. Even with the key button turned off the caps still take the initial charge when connecting the battery.
