That looks very pretty. Do you have some picture of how the wheels are more widely attached to the Paris truck?

How is the flange-adapter attached to the motor? It looks like there is a tiny screw-hole, are a few small screws strong enough for the massive torque?
 
The motor is attached to the truck just as same, it's just that I've pushed out wheels farther out. Good point about the screws. I may have to put small keyways on them when they arrive.
 
I think that you just need a custom can .. otherwise .. this bearings will break down too fast :oops:

check this out .. the guys are made it already .. so you can get the idea .. but I think something should be made with the dust that will inevitably come inside the motor and will ..... ;)
 
There are two bearings in front and the skirt bearing in the back. I'll send replacement bearings for the front if it's an issue, the skirt bearing would need to be sent back to me to remove and replace. The Inboard is cool, but I think the ES community can come up with an equally amazing, if not better, e-board.

Sorry, no. These have more material and machining, so there's added cost. But for $50 more, I think its worth it so you can have more stability and use wider decks.

I will be at OC Mini Maker Faire this Saturday. I'll put these on a board and take videos of me and other people riding them. The week after that, I will be at San Mateo Maker Faire.
 
Hey man, really like the red set up. Could you post some more pictures of the complete board with some video footage. Did you ever consider making or looking for a wider truck?

I like the evolve off road truck (16 inch width) but the only problem is the axles are 10 mm OD. Maybe you can try with a 10 mm OD shaft motor...

Actually, the MBS ats trucks are also 15" width and 9.5mm axles, but they are TKP.

If there is one thing I've learned about longboarers, is that they are very particular about their setup. :wink:

I've actually thought about what you are thinking but with the pneumatic wheels--putting a motor on the ats truck and mating it to the side of pneumatic wheels, kind of like what Justin did with his inline motors.

I hope to build one soon so I can ride my pneumatics, which I actually prefer. I'm just worried how fast it will go because the wheels are 8"
 
What about the Trampa trucks with the long axle ones. Check those out.

Pedi - upgrade my setup to the one shown. I'll send payment whenever.

I didn't like my pneumatics too bumpy :( end up bouncing off my board going 20mph and there ends up being a dip on the road.
 
those trucks would work, but then you would end up with a 13" wheel-track, too wide for longboards. I think 10" is the sweetspot, 9" for carving or urban riding.

Alright guys, I've been trying to make a video with the Wii remote but sadly, the Wii is not for Mii. :( So I took out the Axial AX3, and got the job done. I did not put the electronics in the box yet, in case I need to access it along the way.

I have the braking at 75% because I'm afraid that I may start singing "I believe I can fly" if I put it on 100%, but this thing will coast endlessly. I put the drag brakes on at 5% and it still kept going.

The video is long and unedited. I have no idea what the rattling noise is, I do not hear it when I'm riding. At the end of the video, I made a start-from-standstill test, and it went "almost" without cogging.

This was with 2 Hobbywing Xerun 150A, each connected to a HK 6s 2.6Ah Li-po. The torque is already brutal, Godspeed with 12s. :mrgreen:

Coming from someone who is used to the smoothness of brushed motors and the comfort of pneumatic wheels, this setup is the closest thing to duplicate it for me, but with more YOLO feeling. :D

How does the width compare? I don't understand...10" is 254mm...that's a lot wider. I've only been skating a few years though and noob.
You guys never cease to amaze!
 
The Paris 195mm is the width of the hanger, the overall width of the Paris 195mm from axle end-to-end is 10.5 inches. This blank truck is 10 inches from axle end-to-end.

I know it gets confusing when they don't tell you which they are measuring, the axle or the hanger. I just go by what the brands tell me. :D
 
Porn!!! :shock: That deck is sweet! It would be so cool to see the electronics through it. Some ride videos please...

Another thing about these hub motors, aside from the less drag on acceleration, is that braking is immediate and controlled. My theory is that it does this since you do not have the big wheel pulley trying to still turn the smaller motor pulley during braking. What ever input you put,that's how the motors/wheels react. No gear ratios and/or drag.
