TSDZ2B Torque not engaging properly even after replacing the sensor.

I ran a TSDZ2 on my old bike for a few years and loved it, but when i built my new bike, decided to try out the TSDZ2B w/ brass.

Its been pretty trash since day 1, but I stuck with it since I spent so much money. This week I decided to swap out the brass for white gear to see if I could solve some of strange problems. (Hard pedaling/strange noises, etc etc)

However, when i swapped the gear, the Torque stopped working. It works if i bridge the connector OR if I unplug the sensor and then plug it back in after startup.
After fighting with it a few days, I decided to swap in the torque sensor from my other bike, but it still has the exact same problem. So its gotta be in the controller randomly going bad for no reason at all.

So. Throttle works, Walk works, Torque works if I use a resistor, or unplug it before start up then replug it. Swapping the Sensor results in same issue.

1. Its a VLCD6, .. Is there a way to calibrate the sensor on this display?

2. I have a 860C V1.6 and a CP2102, but for the life of me cant the api bootloader on this thing. (even then how do i know i can flash the tsdbz2 controller?) I was planning on putting this on my old bike, but never flashed them after wiring it up. Im seeing TX/RX, and pushing the power button pauses it, but it doesn't ever leave the wait state, possible due to bad firmware?

3. Since I suspect the issue is somehow in the controller but i cant figure out how this could have even remotely happened... do i cry and just spend $150 on a preflashed OSF controller and 860C, then try and save this horrible lemon TSDZB2.

4. Last question.. the meter reads 12V on the sensor connector.. is this correct? should it be 5V?

I just got a TSDZ2B and unpowered it is very hard to pedal. Is that what you meant by "(Hard pedaling/strange noises, etc etc)"?
Does it spin freely under power?
Thanks

Have look at this page just over half way down I put in two photo of my 860C attached to a computer via CP2102 for info TSDZ2 OSF for all displays, VLCD5-VLCD6-XH18, LCD3, 860C-850C-SW102.

Just go right thro' this thread from about 113 shows videos on how to program the controller, I have to use the OSF to reprogram my TSDZ2B to make better use of the signal I was getting from the torque sensor, I was not ready to pull it apart unless I had to.

I found it to be much harder to pedal than the original, and it makes a funny joker laugh when powered. I think the bearing tolerances were off, but I cant test anything since it doesn't even engage. I hope to test it more this weekend.

ok, I can confirm, that I def should be able to do this with APT and the USB TTL. That is the exact thing I see in your photo.

I wired mine to a battery, but everyone else is using the booster, so I'm going to try that now since I already have it here anyway.

EDIT: Swapping to the booster let me flash it!!
