52584406_934.jpgView attachment 1Just wondering if anybody has one of these? came from the original owner he was in his 70s. im going to build a battery for it and it does run[barely] but the battery has a 1983 date on it! i couldnt pass it up for 175.00... looks like a hv -80 sleeper mod might fit :lol: ..

I would be interested in any info you could find out about these. The name, year of manufacture, voltage, battery type (12V SLA modules, "X"-Ah, diameter of the roller, etc...pics too, if possible.
 
Im going to look it over today, its called[ General Engines "Pedal Power Electric Motor System"].Made in New Jersey N.Y. its 12v. im finding conflicting manufacture dates, from what ive saw so far was from 1978-1986, guy from the cabe said he had one from 1971,but the thread is from 2001 so doubt i will get any answers, but will get pics and details for you spinningmagnets this aint going nowhere but on the road.


On abledata.com the website gave us this much information: "--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 05/93) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Add on power units for bikes or trikes. Three models: 50K is 1/2 horsepower, 100K is 1 horsepower, 150K is 1 1/2 horsepower. Each unit includes motor system and mounting brackets, battery case and nuts and bolts. Uses one or two 12 volt batteries. Instant start does not require pedaling. Top motor speeds, 8 to 15 mph. Consists of motor and friction drive head mounted above front tire. Control is mounted on handgrip. Some pedal assistance may be needed on hills.

Notes: Not recommended for heavy use in hilly terrain by operators who cannot pedal independently. Friction drive system may cause excessive wear to tires because of rough surface.
