I am curious now as to where I could find some tiny chain that looks vaguely similar to actual bicycle chain. The idea is the result of seeing a 3D-printed smart-phone cover (and wondering if a chainring/chain/sprocket was possible):

As an unrelated side-note, while Googling tiny bicycle chain, these images popped up:

Don't know where you might find such chain in quantity, but what comes
to mind is the little bit of chain that was part of the hub index spindle on old Raleigh 3-speed hubs...

Generically they just call it "roller chain".
Here's one source:

Edit: I retract the following post. I was lead astray. It is hardly any smaller than my bike.

Searching for #25 roller chain on ebay had a few results. The above is remarkably cheap. It needs verification though.

Thanks for all the responses, the link from friendly1uk seems to be what I'm looking for. "RS15 (4.75 mm pitch)" chain is 2/3rds the link size of #25, and there is an even smaller option: stainless steel "RS11SS (3.74 mm pitch)". Now the hold-up is sprocket availability...(begins Googling furiously...)

Just for comparison, the "2" in #25 means it is 2/8ths of an inch in pitch = 1/4-inch, which converts to 6.35 mm
