The Iranian people would rise up and overthrow the MULLAH's if we would stop blockading their country. Blockades DON"T WORK. Iran needs Ostpolitik the opening and trade and communication that worked for the former East Germany would work extremely well with Iran and most definitely a nuclear armed North Korea that all the same neo-con's said "Should never happen>" and yet it did under the BUSH administration. LMAO.

i think maybe you missed the news over the last few years from iran.

the people did rise up and disclaim the dictator, but they all went to jail or were executed. maybe you missed that? remember neva?

they even arrested rafhsanjani.

it is not as simple as you think, but if they would use anti personnel long range standoff glide bombs on the headquarters of the republican guard and the secret police along with kamani and akhmadinajad, then there would be the opportunity for a popular insurrection to overwhelm the regime forces.

instead of widespread bombing, it will be strategic. there supposedly is a cruise missile package which will fly along the high tension power lines dispensing chaff at each pylon of the line so that the lines will short out a little on each pylon leading to failure of the rebreakers at the hub. that will shut off the centrifuges and when they shut down then all the partitioned gases will diffuse backwards through the centrifuge chain.

i expect the saudis will conveniently ignore the israeli jets and i bet they will even allow them to land in saudi after their mission, then work out the details of repatriation afterwards.

This is a USA and Russia proxy war waiting to happen and I think we might lose this time. The Russians are beefing up air defense in Syria and what about Pakistan? They would most assuredly nuke Israel if anything sinister happens. Ost Politk is definitely more applicable to North Korea as the same folk......

As i Canadian you guys really have to appreciate Obama he is decent, calm, fair he needs more time it's not fare what he was left with from the Bush(cowboy) years, he cannot be blamed for the economy and don't let the other presidential runners say they can turn it around it will take time. You guys are so lucky you don't have a bunch of panzies running your country hell us Canucks have so many elections i dont even know who's running out country..Obama got Binladin, he brought home troops from a war that can't be won. I have friends that will not die now,i'm greatfull for that..Mark my words if Obama does not get elected again and one of those other monkeys get in..It will be the end of the world..yes i can see it happening a nuke world war..I love the USA as much as Canada you don't need another trigger happy president.I only prey Obama gets elected again the others scare me..Iran is no threat they will dig there own graves there people will rally, let them make the first move, i know Obama will not rush into Iran he doesn't want blood on his hands, and i don't want to see the casulty list get any higher..Please as a Canadian looking in.Vote Obama

USA-isreal??

"Why are men, the ones who fight the wars?"
Because they are the ones who can stop when it's over.
From reading this, however....I am not very encouraged.
Want to be at ground zero, when the idiot quotient tilts....and men have also lost their minds. Ps....(even though women have remarkably slanted logic...they have 100% of the p***y.)

Doesn't the USA, and any other declared nuclear power fall into this category  "Yes. We can't allow one nation to dictate their policies to the world with a threat of Nuclear attack."

Will America go to war with Iran? Time frame is the next 4 years.

This is ebike related. Iran supplies oil to China, and much of the world's oil supply is controled from that region. If there is a war, oil prices will likely sky rocket, and china may not be willing to trade with the western world, meaning Lipo batteries are scarce
This is March 5th, and I'd have to say yes on that.

Yes because the Empire needs to maintain control over the bulk of the world's oil supply.
Columbia is a bad place, a lot of drugs pour out from there. But it has no oil, so no takeover or invasion.

I read USA has 41 days oil left ?

Was that false news ?

That's just in reserves... otherwise we are a net oil exporter and have more than we know what to do with..
If we had 41 days remaining, in total, it'd be a 9x bigger deal.

Yes reserves no doubt. But that's what you make gasoline out of, the stuff in the ground is still in the ground and is of no use day to day. As for the huge oil production of the US, well that's mostly shale oil and it's light oil, it doesn't have a lot of Diesel in it. You need Diesel to run a modern nation and that's why the US imports so much heavy oil and refined Diesel from Canada and elsewhere. You could stop all the cars tomorrow and society would still go forward in a clumsy way, but stop the flow of Diesel and all the farms and mines and transport sector grinds to a halt.

Now think of how that shale oil, that tight oil comes out of the ground and gets to the refineries. Millions of ton of river sand has to be dug out and cleaned and transported by truck to the well sites, then mixed with untold volumes of frac chemicals also trucked in, then mixed with lakes worth of fresh water and injected in the endless miles of horizontal wells that cover a shale play. The wells are too numerous to count, orders of magnitude greater than the number of wells needed for conventional oil fields, they cover the landscape like Spring flowers. The oil comes out and then has to be separated from the water and the toxic water dealt with. Diesel does most of that work. As well as all the transporting of the oil to the refineries. Is that Diesel oil accounted for in the equation? Is it subtracted from the volume of oil it is used to extract so we a real measure of how much oil is available to society? No, it's just added to the overall total so that the total oil produced on the planet is going up and up.

It's a bit of shell game really. Without conventional oil from places like the middle east and Canada they couldn't do it on the scale they are. That's why this blockage in the straights is driving up US Diesel prices. Everything we built in the 20th century was built with abundant Cheap conventional oil and now the US is trying to go forward with this unconventional "unborn" oil and deepwater. This explains why the nation as a whole hasn't benefited from the shale oil revolution as they called it, like it did in the 1950's and beyond with the cheap conventional oil. There was never any profit in it aside from what the miners and Wall street skimmed off. Nearly a trillion dollars of debt went bad over it but the system is in place now so on it goes. Australia has endless unborn oil deposits all up the East coast but we aren't fracking oil, just some gas in a small region. It's a dead end with many nasty ecological side-effects. Many nations have the deposits and are likewise leaving them in the ground.

Look at the technology, and then think of the cost.
The Google AI:
The Deep Vertical Hole: Operators first drill straight down into the earth, often reaching depths of 5,000 to 10,000 feet or more, to reach the target sedimentary or shale rock formations.

The Horizontal Hole: Once the drill reaches the specific rock layer, it turns sideways to drill horizontally for a mile or more. This horizontal drilling allows a single surface location to access a massive area of the underground resource.

The "Micro" Holes: After the main wellbore is drilled, it is lined with steel pipe (casing) and cement to protect groundwater. Because the well is completely sealed, a specialized tool called a perforating gun is lowered into the hole. It fires small explosive charges to blast tiny holes through the steel casing and cement.

Only after all of these holes are created can the actual fracking fluid (water, sand, and chemicals) be pumped in at high pressure to crack open the rock and release the trapped oil and natural gas

Didnt Trump recently announce that US has grabbed Venezuela's oil? This should make everyone happy, i presume?
Another oil-rich regime that needed to be taken down, because true democracy runs best without oil (just take a look at the US).

At the price of fuel now, when I stop at a corner on my ebike waiting to cross, I look at the number of vehicles with one person inside. I'd say fuel prices have a ways to go before they affect the populace.

It is not possible to have a successful , fully functioning, democratic society with out oil !

Mostly true, for now.

Indonesia's getting their ass kicked by high oil prices due to this nonsense and it's caused the place to be more of a mess than usual. How is it going down under?

I'm pretty unhappy that my taxes pay for violent actions, but no matter how i vote, the govt is going to do stuff like that.
USA has only NOT been at war with some country for 4 years of it's entire existance.

I hope things improve for Venezuelans in the long run though.

Yep, the war/exploitation/domination machine runs on oil and is too big to stop. And in the long run i think the situation will improve for everyone - when the oil runs out.

It may increasingly run on electricity because drone warfare is the thing du jour :oop:

And in the long run i think the situation will improve for everyone - when the oil runs out.

I hope everyone here doesn't get to see what happens when the oil runs out, without some kind of replacement.

Not a comprehensive list.

Considering how deeply modern civilization depends on this stuff, it should be imperative to minimize wasting it in transportation to ensure future supply for other critical uses.

Alternatives for these use cases are usually many multiples in cost, and many are inferior in quality.
They don't support civilization as we know it yet.
