This is the before, a stupidly heavy fast 72v meat bullet making lead acid torque arm destroying monster.
ETN.jpg

This is the after.

A nice little 32km/h tour down to the market and get some blue berries non coronary inducing middle age man machine...I may be getting old, or maybe wiser....

:)

(Clouds coming in didn't finish wiring and mounting charge indicator and port.)

1000W 48V 20Ah kit from Conhismotor.com

No peddle: 45Km/h
With peddle: 50Km/h

Issues: Speedlimit setting only works on throttle, not on PAS

Have not tested long range yet. Did 20KM trips and returned home with full battery each time.

Longtime lurker, first time poster, and I finally have something I'd like to share.

Before visiting the Black Rock desert:

The better part of year later, and still progressing:

The bike that proceeded my last; well it was a pile of tubes, but I don't have picture of that.

...it became a SLA/Unite-powered pig...

then I started reading around here and learned a lot...

Shortly after that pic, I almost got hit and decided I wanted a bike that was a bit taller.

What can i say , old schoolPhoto641.jpg

bike is 77 lbs
i'm 225 lbs
top speed 43 km/hr
range 43 km
48v 15 ah

Here is my first bike build before and after...well midway through, it is just now fully functioning but will continue to be built on and improved as fast as I can get parts to Norway! Hopefully it helps my girlfriend keep up on the commute to work!

Nice work it looks neat.

Since CrazyBike2 is now a 2WD thanks to donations from Kingfish and Grin Tech as well as anonymous donors after my house fire, I thought I should post pics of the change. Still needs front torque arms, but only a 6FET at the moment, so not exactly a lot of torque for now; simple enough to just keep checking the nuts. ;)

Thansk to the cargo pods you can't really see the rear motor, though, so a pic of before I put the right pod back on:

I also did some fixing of the seat, relacing the webbing to re-tauten it cuz I was sitting on the tube frame a lot of the time these days, whcih si NOT comfy:

amberwolf , i like your design front led. very impressive located area.

If you mean the downlighting, they are just LED replacements for aquarium lights, designed to run on 12V, and come in a variety of color variations around white (redder, bluer, etc). Mine are by Aqueon and were clearanced out at ridiculously low prices a couple of months ago, maybe three, at all of the Petcos I know of and probably other places. I only got three though. Two are on Delta Tripper and one is on CrazyBike2.

They do make the bike look a lot "bigger" on the road at night, and much more visible. Seems to help other traffic on the road respect it more.

Plus I get a lot of "cool bike!" remarks as I pass pedestrians and such. ;)

My bike before and after the conversion
MP5before.jpgPICT0031.resized.JPG
Used an Astro 32204t motor on a Recumpence's DaVinci drive, powered by 15Ah 12s Zippy 20C Controlled by na CC HV 160 ESC thru a beta CA-LRC. The bike has 26" front And 24" hooky rear wheels, with a 19.1:1 total reduction ratio.
The donor Bike is a 2006 ONION MP5 prototype with a 7075 trellis + Carbokevlar tubing Frame and a 6061 welded swingarm, featuring a ±3.5° headtube angle inclination and an adjustable BB position.
The whole bike is in the 22Kg range without Battery pack that's placed on a backpack with a 1mt long 8AWG coiled wire. All connection are made by 8mm bullets. There's also a simple antispark resistor (5w 180Ohms) that works pretty good.
Feel free to ask for anything about the project and for any of the used components or settings.

Holy heck. How did you happen upon that frame?
Love the industrial look.
Love the sig too.
