Anyone know about/tried TOSEVEN Mid Drive?

PAS only?..........
As this motor comes from PSWPower too, imho it is still the same batch as before.
So it doesn't surprise me that the torque sensing is not that sensitive. It is the third review this is observed and they all come from PSWPower.
As you can see in the Reddit review, the motor is named Buffalo DM01 and not ToSeven DM-01, which could be a sign.

On the youtube introduction review (by Lierskogen) I'm convinced of the build quality of the DM-01, but I hope this motor comes from another batch.
On the bench he feels the sensitivity of the torquesensor by hand, but I'am curious to the next field review.

Very bulky motor and small gear. Looks like the torque sensor needs a adjustment to the zero point

As for the gap between the mounting plate and the motor case on the non-drive side, just get some copper or alu bushings and cut them to fit. I do this on my TSDZ2s since I also have to add spacers to keep the motor from hitting the drive side chainstay and the provided spacers don't fit the gap perfectly.

There is a follow up on the youtube channel of Lierskogen ebikes
@lokz has earlier directed to that channel here

He has published now three video's of the DM-01:

1 - DM-01 workbench test
2 - DM-01 settings on display
3 - DM-01 field test

On the third video it looks to me that there are no problems with the torquesensor or firmware anymore.
Which could be the case if this motor comes directly from ToSeven or the motors of PSWpower are updated now.

On the video I find the motor sound quite audible.
Imho more as I experience with the Tsdz2
I don't know how this compares to the BBSHD.

My 1st thought was also that it is pretty loud but when he stops peddling and you hear how loud the clicks of is gear are its probably recorded very loud.

seems legit and now things are getting quite interesting. I want to see dm02 test and opinion as dm01 is huge for me

Might be of interest to others

I bought the DM01, too. (from pswpower)
Maybe of interest for someone out there:

a) Mine does not feel like there is any torque sensing, at all.
b) I do not have all the settings in the menu as Lierskogen has in his video (DM-01 settings on display). Not even close. I wish I could turn off the PAS and just use the throttle. But it doesn't seem to be possible to turn off.

For some reason PSWPower sold/sell an old batch of Toseven.
(I wrote about this here and there)
Till now every review of the motor that came from PSWPower has the same problems.
(Maybe interesting to know. Is your DM-01 also a "Buffalo" brand, as mentioned in the Reddit review?)

I advice you to contact Toseven directly, or DM @Olek.x . They know what could be the reason.
I think your DM-01 need an firmware-update of the controller and display, which cannot yet be installed by yourself.

There is no brand name anywhere on the motor or the packaging. So no mention of "Buffalo".

Thanks for the information. Appreciated! If I manage to get a firmware-update on it, I will share.

From the information on High Voltage Discord seems like To7 will not sell their motors through Pswpower any more. Olekz (Alex) claims that they do not honor warranty terms which results in bad customer experience.
Is this the real reason - we will see.
But if this is true than Pswpower has only old batch of motors in their stock now.

any news about getting them via aliexpres / other reseller in eu ?

For some reason the delivery of ToSeven engines is delayed.
That's why I think that currently PSWPower is still the only one selling the motors, also on AliExpress.
But as it turned out, these engines work far from optimal because it concerns an old batch.
It therefore remains a matter of waiting patiently before they are available elsewhere or for better PSWPower reviews.

Hi guys,
I ordered TOSEVEN DM02L, with torque sensor BB100 directly from TOSEVEN. I have 2 pairs wheels, 29er for summer, 26fat for winter.
Built quality OK, but works in PAS mode only. Try set TorqueSensor ON or OFF, but no difference. Speed limit dont work. I wrote to toseven for help, but still without answer :-(

Directly from ToSeven?
If I see the "Buffalo" brand, it looks to me they send you the same old batch as PSWPower still sells.

That is very disappointing and definitely an unexpected move by ToSeven.
I hope Toseven will solve this for you in a short time, because we all wait for a review of a complete working DM02.
(The DM01 is already positive reviewed by Lierskogen Norway)

I think Alex (@Olek.x) and other To7 represatives are too busy with the Eurobike Exibition, Frankfurt, so that can explain the response delay a bit.

Hi im Alex from Toseven

We are indeed at eurobike and the team from china left monday, i guess your mail went directly to those staff. i have just this moment opened my laptop and seen this.

Can you please send me a PM and we will find out what the problem is, each motor has been getting tested before they go out so it might just be a setting. if there is a fault we will replace the motor for you

if you pm me i can pass my contact details and we can get a solution faster

thanks

alex

ALEX - is it safe to buy toseven from pswpower now ? do they have fully working motors now ? is dm02 capable of running 48v? factory specs say yes but pswpower says 36v . i'm asking about pswpower as they are reliable seller in EU and they have free shipping incl tax and such ...

I dont think it is old batch :-(
I wail for completing motor 3 weeks. Motor finished 16.5.2023.
I think your torque sensor has been set to safe mode out of the factory.

We will need to send you instructions on how to switch it from safe to sensitive

Thanks.

Alex

We don't sell motors to pswpower
Psw power don't have 48v motors. They can only be bought directly from us at the moment
