Can we please just take a moment to appreciate the work of the guys over at adaptto? My controller is fixed and is being shipped beck to me tomorrow free of charge. :D The best controller on the market and customer service is second to none!
Thanks Adaptto!
Indeed!!!
My Mini-E hasn't arrived back yet, but same deal...Adaptto replaced the entire Power board on mine to fix an unknown issue!

Cheers

Yes, thank you!

I missed one of the V max settings, it looks like my brain was working less effectively at 2AM and I had set one of the V max settings to 78V instead of 88V.

All fixed now, and brakes are working.

Having said that, what is the normal amount of regen I can expect from a mini e at say 40km/hr? I got about 1KW regen but the bike wasn't exactly screeching to a halt...

I might re-do the auto detect process now that regen is enabled.

 glad its working for you now. personally i cranked my regen settings up as high as they will go on the mini-e+5404. it only ever gets to~ 1.6kw maxed out on the steepest hills.

iv also noticed that the regen has a peculiar 'powerband' it just dosnt seem to have a lot of drag at over 55kph, and ofcourse under 15kph or so..

i think this could be to do with either:

-phase amps settings are maxing out.

-maybe the settings arnt quite right for the motor

-motor is saturating and cant produce any more drag over certain speed.

its odd as its not like this with the max-e +cro, seems to have serious drag even at higher speeds.

will say this again-
I cant recommend wuxing thumb throttle enough for varyable regen braking

OK thanks again,

I'll think about the thumb throttle, but as I said, its not exactly extreme braking... I mean if I am wanting the regen brakes I probably want all of the braking it has available. I haven't done a commute with them working yet as I am on a short break, but unless I am going down a very gentle slope and just want to hold speed rather than accelerate or decelerate, I probably want all its got. Having said that, the thumb throttle might be a more aesthetically pleasing setup when compared to my cheap button console.

im interested to hear how you get on, mainly cause i want more info on what the adaptto regen capability with different motors is.

i have a 4065 that i used with old style controller. it seemed to have pretty good regen braking.

it would not surprise me if the capability to have better regen force is there, just thet the adaptto needs to be configured accordingly.

when the warranty runs out, you could unlock it and crank the regen amps up much higher.. :p

having serious varyable regen power is one of my favourite features of the max-e/cro setup.

Guys, for those who want to run high voltages and dont care about warranty here is some info on how the controller works:

Allex:
Adaptto limit its power from 92v to 99, where at 99V you have around 500W of power.
CustomerX, How is you experience with charging up to 98volts, do you have limited power until you reach 92?
CustomerX:
The 24s battery worked as you said with reduced amps until the battery sagged a little. Its an old lipo pack so now it settles around 98 volt after its disconnected from the bulk charger.
When balanced to 100 volt it still worked but only running on 1 to 2 amps. This was good for commuting to work. Did 10 kilometres one day before it run down to 98 volt.

My controller came back from Russia Yesterday. Thanks Adaptto!

However I had a little accident today, so probably won't be able to test it for some time unfortunately.

I've ordered a '1500W' Leaf Motor to replace my HS4080. The Leaf Motors are over 90% efficient, so it will be a very efficient setup once up and running.

Has anyone else run a Leaf Motor with an Adaptto yet?

Cheers

dang that sux!

cant get enough locktight into those nuts...
praps time to call samd to see if hes got any mxus v3..? :D

Didn't use any locktight, never have, but they did have Nordlockwashers on and Nylock nuts...the stripped axle just won't hold anything any more.

I was considering the MXUS, but it's too heavy for my needs. The Leaf Motor is lighter, and with active forced air cooling should be a great light weight weapon. :)

Cheers

Wide stator is you friend when it comes to torque :) that why mxus is nice
Agree 100%, but it is not my friend when it comes to weight.
My riding is quite mixed, and while I do like to hit some killer hills, I really enjoy the long range, exploration type stuff. The type of stuff that often involves lifting my bike over fences/gates, etc. The MXUS would be nice, but it add's more weight than I would like TBH.

Cheers

Just don't understand why you are spamming the thread

Has anyone already tried latest RC-9g_4 firmware?

Today i flashed my Max controller and i have same bugs as before:
- exit from charge mode is not possible; nothing happens if i press the down button, if i press it in main screen (to enter menu with password) it shows "BMS error" and controller needs to be rebootet that the error goes away.

full reset has been done before upadate.

Adaptto, any suggestion whats the problem?

Maybe try with a reset after flash.

i guess you still use RC7  , or does it work at your controller?

I'm running the latest firmware, but the unlocked version. Don't have any of those symptoms, it exits charge mode just fine. Hmmm

what fw version does your display show?
mine show only RC-9g, but normally the name should be RC-9g_4
:?:

External DC-DC, light, accessory that you dont want to drain the battery:

For those who would like to control external power with the adaptto ON/OFF state, i found a simple but effective way!

->USE THE USB 5V output to control a 5V coil of a small relay! then use the contact of that relay to switch ON or OFF your DC-DC from the battery HV!

I am in process to install light on my first NYX and i dont want to have my own DC-DC that power light and accessory to drain the battery if i forget a switch! So
I tought it would be cool to have the Adaptto LVC protection and ON/OFF state to activate or not the DC-DC. I am nearly sure that the USB output is also trigged by the Adaptto LVC as well as it is for the standby mode.

Doc

thats a fantastic idea Doc. thumbs up!

Brake, thanks for the pic.
well, than the reason why i still have the bugs must be that i did no reset after the flash. hopefully it helps.
cheers

edit:
about reset, there is only the "system reset" down in advanced settings menu. no other possibility for a reset, right?

for more comfortable power mode switching i soldered a pushbutton parallel to the up button on the display. Its so nice and once you have it, you'll never want to miss it 8)

it is not much work, but care must be taken when soldering because the distance between the solder joints on the board is very small. once i had fog inside the display after riding in wet conditions. thats why i put a small silica gel bag into the display.
