battery and Amp limitation (crystalyte controller)

Hi

I have a 12A max battery pack with a crystalyte controller.
My controller is set to limit at 10A.
The peak statistics tells me it goes to 20 or 30A sometimes, but it must be a very short period of time (I cannot see these peak in the instantaneous amp output).

My questions :
- Is it dangerous for the battery pack ?
- How can I prevent this.

I already tried to increase the "IntAGain" value which determines how rapidly the over-ride output will ramp down when the current from the battery pack exceeds the programmed current limit. And I still have these peaks.
My manual talks about a "PAGain" value, but I can't find it in the advanced setup (I have the PVGain and intVGain though).

Thanks.

Does your Cycle Analyst plug into the controller with a 6 pin connector ? ( only this model can limit the amps, vs the inline model that has the options in the menu but canot do any limiting )
Yes it is a 6 pin connector. And I can see it is limiting the amps, it's just maybe not fast enough.

What battery exactly do you have ? nimh, lithium, etc..
it's a crystalyte 36V lithium 10ah

That is a spike of 2-3C.

I have a crystalyte controller 35A that spikes to 50A for 1/3 to 1/2 seconds.

since the spikes are of such short duration, I can't see how it would hurt the batts.

My 50A spikes do not blow my 40A fuse, no time for thermal buildup.
