this is my custom made bike.

x5305
marzocchi 888 fork set at 6 inch travel
rear fox air 6 inch travel
26 inch x 2.5 inch maxxis hookwork tire
fat rim 26x2.5 inch
avid code 5 hydro brake
custom frame abble to hold 72V30ah or 48V50ah batterie pack
custom dropout and other 1/4 plate to close around the axle so even the nut losse the wheel stay there.

Steveo controller super fast start 200A ( super cool )
on the 5304 i hit 96.5km/hr and was abble to go up but i stop at this speed too much leaf here in the street.

the bike run super sweet now i make the side cover to hide everything and my project for the winter is to make a super light frame made of alluminium frame and swing arm.

Nothing quite like a powerful ebike with a big battery pack. :D You said custom frame, did you build it completely from scratch or rob pieces from a donor bike?

How does she ride? I'm starting a scratch built frame and haven't decided yet where to put a similar size pack. Any issues with all the weight there? I assume no, but want to ask to be sure.

my pedal bike is a norco six so i strip it to only have the frame. pic up a cardboard to trace where is the bottom bracket/ headset/seatpost. after that i just figure it out for the cell pack.

it a real custom made frame and rear swingarm. i cut it 3 time just to have it like i really need.

it look like easy to do but thrust me its a bit complicated to build something like that everything need to be allign perfectly. you need time to do it, re-done and do it again.

you need welding machine and knoledge to use it and of course have space and tool to do it.

for me my friend have a shop so i spent many hours on that at his shop.

next step is chromoly frame or alluminium frame to have something super light.

i hope this help you.

very nice looking build. i would like to see a few more photos if you have them? thanks.

Yeah, lets see some close-ups of this bike frame. Looks like an a/c unit up front.

Beautifull. You must now find a place to race it. :D

Salut Stradivarius.

Wow beau vélo excellent travail j'espère que tu es content et que ca performe comme tu le souhaitais.

Bonne journée amuse toi bien!

Hi Stradivirus,

Nice ebike, amazing work I hope your ebike is perform like you expect.

Good day and take care!

Ok. Why is it that everyone in canada speaks french? I met a chick once from quebec. Had a accent and of course she speaks french. Walked around sporting her rack. Then she had bars put on her windows from whoring around too much. Dumb blonde.

Hi Stradivarius,

I have took a closer look on the Brammo Empulse 8 (8 K Watts) nice machine indeed. But I'm curious to know the average speed requires for this 128 Km range, in real life because its seems a bit high and too optimistic from me and 4 hours for charging at 220 Volt is not a nice option.

The better idea I have in mind for a long range EV is to use many batteries packs (more than 2) then you can change it quickly on an ebike with a release system of your choice. You can get more range with 72 Volt 30 amps pack this gives you X .5 more range without too much weight penalty and charging at work can be an interesting option if you can do it.

I'm actually studying a way to add easily a second battery pack on my future ebike (next summer) for longer ride when I really need it. I will use 2 batteries pack on this ebike on at the time but sometimes I like the idea of adding and usign the second pack for longer trip.

A little story back In Summer 2009 with Doc with my "Iron Phantom V2" I was carrying his power full Meanwell charger and we go for a ride I'm following him and we stop at bicycle repair place (a good friend of Doctorbass) at this place we charge both bikes for free and we want to pay him but he refuse i tooks about 2 hours or less. It was really fun to have that kind of facility and opportunity and be able to going back to ride after this quick stop, its one of my favourite ride until today.

With your ebike you didn't need any license or else to use it, and its cost you less than a Brammo. The Brammo is really a nice bike but I just want to tell you the opportunity you can have with your ebike the choice is your, it's my 2 cents I hope its help.

Good day!

ysz you right no need to licence it is good. i probably install a 48v40ah or if i can 48v50ah just to have a lot of range. its a bit frustrating to ride less speed just to be sure to come back without pedaling.

and with a 48v small charger on the bike to be abble to recharge it from anywhere.

Not sure what that had to do with e-bikes, but it sure made me laugh!!

Hi Stradivirus,

There's many way to do it but Doctorbass charge his ebike in parallel (50 Volt) with his mean well power supply and he run those pack in series (100 Volt) with the contactor on the ebike.

I'm not sure that you appreciate the top speed of X5 on 48 Volt. 72 Volt 30 amps pack gives you more Watts-hours than 48 Volt 40 Amps pack.

Ecity power makes charger that can be fit the requirements of your battery pack 72 Volt and 15 amps charger can be plug in standard 110 volt 15 amps outlet everywhere and it only takes about 2 hours to charger this ebike also the seems small enough to be carrying on an ebike Doc can help you with this one because I never see one in reel but Doc has see one for a friend.

Hope this help, good day!

Hey Strad.. Why dont you by the nanotech 90C lipo?? similar price than the cellman Lifepo4.. but with incredible performances!!!

6500W out of 600g of cells!! Liveforphysics proven that recently.

I know they are lipo.. but with great attention to the charge process you will appreciate them and feel safe.

congrat for the 96kmh!!! not you are 10kmh away from my 106kmh  .. i have to crank the amp and install my "secret" weapon.. the 36 fets controller!!! .. or my kelly at 130VDC

Doc

hi doc, like you know im a dumb electro peewee man :) wire lot of thats stuff make me just a little scary. i dont want burn the house to the ground if i do some mistake.

for my 95.6 km/ hrs i do that at 4:00 at the morning when i came back to the job. fall pitchblack night on a rainny road. speed is a drug if i would go faster i was abble because i didnt hit the max speed yet. i need first of all install light on the bike to see what happen in front of me. i pass a car at 95km this guys pass is head outside the windows to see whats that... its me :)

i like that funny bike.

hey doc, if i have room 17x9x7 pouces what kind of pack can i put inside with your puppy 90c cell?

FWIW, one good short circuit on any kind of 72volts is gonna burn the house down. So don't think you can cut any corners with wiring just because you use "safe" lifepo4. No charger should be stiing on the carpet, for instance. Sorry if I am talking stuff so obvious you already know.

Just that there is a lot of scare out there for lipo, when the scare should really start with 36v of anything at all. Once you can weld with it, it's enough to burn itself up if you get a wire rubbed through.

Hi Guys,

I have the same fear about the Lipo pack but I really need a "secret weapon" if I want following Doc and Stradivarius next summer :( … Oh well I got an idea for this new ebike

I will build this ebike as towing truck because Doc is really too hard on his controller and sometimes he need to be tow to going back home, just kidding you Doc

Good day!

-Ride = fun
-Gille Villeneuve = FAST
-Circuit = place where you can go fast without bothering with cops.

3 good reason to try that next summer!
