As electric vehicles become more common, I'm curious about what happens to their batteries once they reach end-of-life. With concerns about environmental impact and the limited supply of materials like lithium and cobalt, battery recycling seems to be a critical piece of the EV puzzle.

Are current battery recycling technologies efficient enough? How are companies tackling this challenge? Will we see a circular economy develop around EV batteries in the next decade?

We live with the criminal nature of capitalism. When it's cheaper to recover the materials than to landfill them, recycling will become standard practice. Until then, clever scavengers might nibble a bit off the margins.

Looks like it's not exactly a gold mine, the economy is not going to start just like that around recycling of scrap batteries. Somebody has to put the money in, and probably everyone's looking at the taxpayer to take the challenge.
