Has anyone seen the new igo range of right angle bottom bracket drive bikes.I was in McWhinnies bicycle store in monteal and saw the slickest new ebike
that has come to market.
I was quoted $2000. canadian for this bike and am seriously thinking about it.I
It has a 350 watt motor and gear box on the bottom bracket and drives throught 7 convention derailer gears.10 ah lifpo batteries, gps, dual disc brakes as standard equipment. The website only gives sketchy info. The american site is highteckbikes and gives a little more info.See mid drive bikes.
Has anyone had any experiance with this product????????

Thanks, Jedgar

Interesting:
http://www.igoelectric.com/

Looks like they have been selling these:

...but now they are offering these:

Specs

...they appear to have actually hidden the links from home page to the rest of their (former?) product

Looks too new for anyone here to have experience with but maybe under another label...
Tks

I've recommended on other forums a build and when we added it up, it was around $900 and that includes a 36v 20AH lifepo4 battery. You might be able to build a better system on your own with a hub motor.
It went something like this

$350 e-bikekit.com kit (or 36v kit from hightekbikes.com)
$335 36v20AH lifepo4 battery from elitepowersolutions.com
$40 12v battery charger -- preferably black and decker
$25 - Turnigy watt meter but preferably the new Trakker watt meters (I like them better)
$20 - 3.2v lifepo4 charger from all-battery.com

The bike listed at R Martin bikes appears to be the same yet they rate the motor at 200 watts instead of 350,and the battery is only 8ah li-ion(36 volt)instead of 10 ah lifepo.
I agree that a hub motor conversion would be cheaper and give more options for battery and motor size.
The appeal of this bike is that it seems to be a purpose built electric.
