Are you certain that plug is fried?

About 8 pounds. The BMX 20 inch forks are short and stout. Double the brackets I used for the MY1020 motor

Should accelerate like a rocket. Sorry totally broke. Trying to forget about no plugs and possible fried controller. Doug checked the wheel hook up. perfect. I can install motors. Just cant hook up wiring

If you are certain that plug is fried ... then you must have reversed plugs somehow.

Red + battery plugs into + controller input, might be labeled Bat+.

However ... if you are certain that + was properly plugged into + ... be aware that this connection will produce a healthy spark-snap when connected!
Might just be a small spark mark rather than "fried"?
Use multimeter to confirm positive connection and total pack voltage.

Install fuse! ~30A slow blow. 40A+ if 40A controller etc
Rig ordinary light bulb between Battery + and controller as final connection.
If briefly lit then very dim or off, then might be proper connection. (Should be able to run very-very low throttle tests - 100w light bulb 120V/50V = possibly 40W of possibly 2000w full throttle, just a slight whisper of a throttle turn or regulated current will "fault" controller)
Some switches use a similar pre-resister to lessen the initial surge-spark.

If you do get positive results you can try quickly disconnecting light bulb and connect properly, should be retained current in controller reducing initial spark.

But install in-line fuse 1st!!!

The wires are for the 44.4 volt input to the controller. The wires coming out the battery box are simply the stock bullet connectors and balance plugs. Everything else I did is undone. Its all up to Douge now. I'm getting really drunk now and probably going to jail for Christmas. Already threatened someone's life who works for my health insurance company. sure they called police. I'm really pissed and probably end up breaking a cops neck. So merry Christmas guys. Probably my last post.

He will need these. as well as extensions. If he wants to use Those bags inside the box. Are those Lipos that dangerous ?

There used to be a TV show called "As The World Turns." This is the ebike edition "As The Hub Motor Turns." Or controller burns.

I'm at my brothers house. The bike is 50 miles away but The controller did not smell burnt. I did not go to jail. I will be getting new plugs when I can afford them. I want to stick with bullet. I don't wand the Anderson plugs. I don't like them. Since I will be charging the Lipos in my kitchen I will put them in the bags and the bags in the metal box. i will need long extensions for the bullet plugs and the balance plugs. I will have a small fire extinguisher also on hand. I don't have the option to charge outside at this time. Besides the extensions I will need a new parallel series cable to run all 4 bricks at 44.4 volts and a parallel cable and 1 more Y balance plug cable for charging the 4 bricks at once. I want bullet plugs on all of them. Just my preference. I don't think Doug is going to get them. He is going to hook up the brake levers and sensors which came with the kit and make sure the brakes are adjusted and tune up my pedal gears. Please post a link for the plugs I will need when you can and a replacement controller just in case. Doug and I can handle it from there.

My brother is moving to Tennessee and I am looking into buying his house cheap. Also I just found out my drother in law Mark who has been a welder for almost 20 years is into building custom bikes as a hobby.
That future 20 inch BMX fork motor build will be on steroids as it will be a custom chopper with that 1500 watt 7000 rpm motor. Imagine that. I may even have everything solid chrome plated.

Please post those links guys. I looked around on e bay and Amazon but could not find the plugs I was looking for. This build is almost finished. Once I have the links consider it done. Thanks

Merry Christmas Sunder , Dan , Drkangel , Mark5 and all who are active on this post. Thanks Latecurtis out.

making good bullet connections to the battery will take a good soldering iron, solder and time. You might need wire also.
Possible alternatives to soldering iron when money is tight?

How to solder a bullet connector with a torch or lighter.
at 3:15 in, he uses a Dollar store $1 windproof butane lighter

Soldering with Nail and Torch
for soldering wires together, gas stove burner flame and solid copper wire piece as soldering tip might also work?

Alternative?? That's my preferred method!

For larger connectors, I find I'm faster and neater with a blow torch. Sure, I'll tin the wires with a soldering iron first to make it go in easier, but there's nothing like a 3 second blast with a blow torch and then plunge a pre-tinned wire in there to get a good clean solid connection first go.

I got a few bucks for Christmas. I would rather just order the plugs already made. i thought Doug was going to hook me up with the the wires I need for the tablet i gave him back but I don't see it happening. He said something about the 7th. that's
totally ridiculous. Why should I have to wait that long. Seems to me if I gave him back the tablet and traded the specialized for a trek is should be running now. I could have used it today. Real tired and had to walk for worms for Eels.

I am very nervous hooking up a parallel series wire to the controller to use both packs at the same time. That was a big spark when that plug burned out. It was kind of melted. The plastic melted off the connector and a black scorch mark on the plug it went into. A simple series connection don't scare me. Or a simple parallel connection. But the parallel series to make 4 22.2 volt 6s Lipos scares the hell out of me. The only reason why i went to Doug for help. I want to see someone else hook it up to the controller and charge the batteries first. I will make sure the controller is off next time he hooks it up though.

The thing is though if I have to wait almost two more weeks I might as well just order 4 - 15 Ah SLAs and specify 2 day shipping and call it a day. The thing is though I really want to join the gym for my health and if I do that I will be spending my gym membership again and I really want to go to the gym. So please post a link on the parallel series plugs and parallel plugs I need to charge all 4 batteries together. This is why I originally wanted to run the packs separate as it would be more simple. It would have been up and running now. However I decided to listen to Dan because he is probably right so I am still trying to make 4 6s 22.2 volt batteries equal 44.4 volts to the controller and 22.2 volts to the charger and charge all 4 batteries and balance them at once. I don't want to make the plugs or the 14 or 16 inch extensions for the Lipo bags in the cash box.

I have looked for these plugs and haven't had much luck. is there a site I can order them from. Please post if there is. I will be at library tomorrow. If I have to I will make them but would rather spend $20 or $25 already done. I will be at library tomorrow.. Sincerely Latecurtis out.

Use your multimeter to check and confirm your voltage and polarity! (Positive and Negative)

"Reverse Polarity" message from your charger told you you had the battery hooked up backwards.
Apparently you then hooked it to your controller backwards.

Use your multimeter to check and confirm your voltage and polarity!!!

And add a fuse so you don't destroy everything!

Didn't look close enough but got the impression Dan's discharge harness was wired parallel first then serial. In that case you'd need 4 cables like the one linked below to duplicate it. You'd also need 4mm bullets to convert the banana plugs and a series adapter. Some work will still be needed to finish the harness. You can't buy a ready-made harness like Dan's from eBay or hobbyking. Has to be a custom-made harness like Dan's or one from icecube57. And either of theirs would cost more than the $25 you want to spend. Wiring diagram is the first one drawn below.

The other cheaper way is to wire the lipos in series first and then parallel. In that case you'd need 2 cables like the link below, bullet connectors, and a series adapter. Wiring diagram is the second one drawn below. This way takes more work (disconnections) to charge on 6s chargers than first way.

This is just for connecting the lipos to the controller. Doesn't consider charging, balancing, or ease of use.

Big spark, scorch, and melted plastic when you connected battery to controller is not a good sign.

I always wire my lipos in parallel first so that The individual cells are put in parallel. I use Deans plugs because you can buy the leads ready made from Ebay. You can also get the parallel leads for balance wires there. Here's a schematic of how I do it:

Your diagram is exactly how I wired those two harnesses up I pulled apart all the tape on the one which had the burnt plug and the red wire went to red and the black to black. I was not that drunk when I made them up. I only had a few beers. The other harness I can check with the multi meter. If it does not read negative 44.4 volts than I did not reverse polarity. It could have been something with the parallel board. I hooked the batteries to the board 2 packs in parallel to each side. The wires coming from the board were white for positive and black for negative. Could it have been the fact that the controller was turned on when I hooked it up and the packs had been sitting for awhile and there was a difference in voltage between the 4 packs that caused the big spark. I just don't see how I could have hooked anything up backwards. I will go and get all my stuff from Doug's house today. I am not waiting forever for him to fix it. It was not the deal I was looking for when I gave him back the tablet. He wants to install the brake levers because they are longer and have better leverage for the brakes. He also wants to hook up the sensors. I don't care about all of that. I just want the thing to work.

I'm going to hook the currie back up for now. I've been DE sulfating those batteries for weeks now. I don't know what to do with the other one. Thinking about taking it to that electrical engineer. The guy that charged me a fortune last spring to upgrade the currie. I owe him money though. $80. He can take me to court because I sighed a paper. I have been there 4 times now to give him some money. I was there yesterday with $40. he is never home.

Anyway on a more positive note I talked to my brother in law Mark the welder. He has been welding for 18 years. He went to the modern welding school about 20 years ago. He already built a chopper he rides around at camp once a year. He is going to hook me up on that BMX build. It will be electroplated and chrome plated. It will also be getting the 1500 watt 7000 rpm motor welded to the fork.
It will be geared for about 43 mph and it will happen this summer. No idea how I will power it though. Maybe two of those 1600mah deals if I can afford them. A lot simpler to just hook up two Lipos.

Thanks Latecurtis out.

icecube57. I like the icecube57. videos. except for the Anderson connection. I don't like those. Bullet only. or something even bigger with less chance of shock.

I have an old soldering iron. It looks like a lighter works well also. I can get 10 gauge red and black wire at home depot. Where can I get the bullet connectors though. Also I would like to get a crimper and that metal crimping thing that was on that other video.

icecube57 Also on that link. where did he get that crimper tool and that metal thing that got crimped. I looked at Lowes and home depot. I could not even find bullet connectors. It is such a pain in the A to get these things online. I have to go to the bank(when its open) deposit. Then order. Then wait around forever to get it delivered. Then have to go and pick it up at the place because I never hear them at the door. Is there any place I can just go buy what I need. I have money today but no bank open to deposit. I wont have the money by Monday so online is out of the question for this.
It is really frustrating. SLAs are so much simpler. I wish I had the LIPO4s to run. A simple series connection and am sure that one or both of those chargers would work for LIPO4s.

http://lipoconnectionsolutions.com/Lipo-Harnesses-0quote.htm

Ok I found the place to order but like I said the bank is closed and after I join the gym for $99 I will only have a few bucks left over. Probably wont have enough money by Monday. If I even roll out of bed in time before the bank closes. I really want to get this thing working by today or tomorrow. I wish I knew where I could just go buy what I need at a store. Grimmers electronics is probably closed
and I doubt Radio shack has anything like that. It looks like I'm screwed again.

Check local hobby shops, where they sell RC cars, planes etc.
