new tsdz8 pswpower

This is where I am not in on the latest TSDZ8 OSF / Display combinations / versions as the TSDZ2(B)s doe's what I require a mid drive. I may in the future buy a TSDZ8 but not now. It's like with the 860C you can buy ready flashed or I flash them myself.

I thought so too, until TSDZ2B shi... broke down at 950 km... If TSDZ8 does the same even at 1950 km, I will forget about the Tongsheng brand forever.

Where do you get a SW102 that comes with Bluetooth for otaupdating?
I bought it on AliExpress (with a black button (not orange)) for about $45.

astronaut It's a case of horses for courses my mullet bike with a TSDZ2 mid-drive has now reached nearly 6500 kilometers as I have said elsewhere running the OSF and third bearing upgrade, I have built bikes with TSDZ2(B) mid drives for a number of friends and they are still running, but I only apply mild mods thro' the OSF. If I wanted more performance I would go back to a bike I had years ago which was a triumph bonneville.

good for you, mine broke 3 times before reaching 1000km. I had OSF, temperature sensor and thermal mods. Had to replace the controller at 500km, blue gear at 800 and after the one way clutch broke at 1000km it went straight to the bin. I had a shift sensor and brake cutoffs installed and was running it on mostly flat terrain at cadence around 100-120, it wasn't even getting warm. Maybe I don't know how to ride and that's why it broke?

My TSDZ8 broke the first day of use, after 31Km, brand new motor from PSW.
One week to arrive, one day of use.
And PSW want me to pay for controller/Torque sensor shipping fee that they will give me for free..
How they have low prices on their shop...

I wanted to say the same thing, but you beat me to it. And yes, I also had additional bearings and thermal pads inside.

P.S. And regarding riding skills, I have about 30 years of experience on a bicycle, 8 years on motorcycles, and 15 years on a cars... but when it comes to riding an electric bike, something didn't work out also)))

That's the difference I think, with the OSF I do a mild tune up for ridability which is where the TSDZ2(B)s still remain reliable. I use a 11 - 46 tooth 9 speed rear cassette for climbing banks, hills etc. I'm a bit older than yourselves, been riding bikes for over 60 years, in other words an old fart.

It should as it's designed with the higher wattage in mind rather than overcooking the TSDZ2(B). It's the same as my computers, I have a newer main computer with a Intel i7 processor, along with my old computer with an AMD multi core processor, they are as fast as each other but the AMD is over clocked with a Cooler Master water cooling kit on it, with extreme air cooling it would still shut down.

So it's not a minus, but a plus — especially when someone is wise. I like listening to the recommendations of wise people, and you are exactly that.

For example, today I spent another two hours thinking about my “puzzle,” and remembering your previous words about the often-mixed Rx/Tx.... I carefully checked the PL/P+ power wires (so as not to burn anything) seven times, and then played around with Rx/Tx a bit… with the following result:

Everything works. So, thank you! I wish you good health and another 60 years of cycling!

Great result, if the power side of it was wrong you would have had a burn out already, so that was right from the start, it's just understanding the fun we all have with TX and RX, did it end up the yellow wires together along with the green and brown wires together at a guess from the photo. :) 🙃 :)

is the firware for sw102 still developed? I thought new versions only support 860.
The latest firmware supports both SW102 and 860C:

We provide TSDZ8 OSF preflashed SW102 displays with Bluetooth update capability. They are supplied directly by the manufacturer with the BT enabled. They haven't been taken apart to flash the OSF. The OSF is updated to the latest version via Bluetooth. Fully compatible with TSDZ8 motors.

compatible with TSDZ8 OSF or also original firmware?

Hey weird question but I got a display from you guys, I can't remember the exact firmware number but the menu was slightly different. Motor foc was a menu item in motor params and the was also some other minor differences. Since then I flashed a few bins and bricked it (ba flashing hardware it's sorted now) and I edited my own tweaks and compiled it using the latest source from colour_lcd_860C and now there's no motor foc menu item. mstrens added it so it can be changed with ADC brake a while ago so it's still there for me. Do you know which version had the motor foc menu option and if it was an older/newer or maybe a custom build by you guys?

@HazzaHodgson
It was our custom build. Before mbrusa released the fix for the max power settings, we had already compiled our own version with the increased power limits and the FOC Multiplier moved from the Torque Sensor section. It's still the same variable, just renamed and moved to the Motor section for better clarity.
You can find the source code for the 860C display firmware here:

The menu items configuration can be found in this file:
/firmware/common/src/configscreen.c

I have been ridden now 6036 kms and now when I climb hill up motor gives sound grrrrr like unsynchronized transmission. I wonder where is the fault. Sound disappear when I stop pedalling but comes again when motor gets more power.

do you use throttle? (if yes - how often?)

Probably broken tooth/teeth in nylon gear...
