26" Rim with Schwalbe Mudday Mary, but as i said i would really suggest 24" rim on this frame.

Yeah, looks like an issue here if you intend to run 26" knobby tires. I think Torque bikes needs to modify their swing arm for more room. I assume it would not matter if you want to use 24" tires (may even make the swingarm stronger), but would be a problem if you ever wanted to run 26" knobby tires.

Would like to hear what torque bikes has to say about this.

Below is moonshines picture of his 26" tire and it looks very close also. I think he may have had enough clearance because his tire looks very worn down.

Probably enough room for all but the biggest/tallest 26" DH MTB tires out there. It would be perfect for running a 2.75x19 Shinko SR241 on a 19" MC rim though.

On Raptor assembled bikes there is about 5 mm gap with 26'' - 2,5'' DH tyres.
Da-Ben, the reason you are so close could be in the rim-tire combination. Sometimes if the rim is not wide enough (especially with fat tires) it squeezes the tire too much and it than has a slightly bigger diameter than the regular 26''.
The second thing you could do, is to move your motor backward for 1-2 mm, it should be enough.

I ordered the Rock Shox Sektor RL Dual Position Coil Forks 2013 and it does not fit the frame even though it is 1 1/8". The fork headset is too small.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If you havent which fork did you use that fit?

I am having an ebike builder build my raptor and he has tried to use a headset reducer but the next size up does not fit. So now he has to try customizing it to fit(filing it down) If this doesnt work I will order a different fork, thats why I would love to know what worked for you beautiful people.

KeepMoving, Your not really making any sense here. The fork fits into the headset, the headset fits into the raptors head tube.

If the fork is not fitting into the headset, then you need a different headset, not a different fork. The Fork is standard 1 1/8", that is surely not your problem.

If the headset is not fitting into the torque raptors head tube, then you need a different headset.

The problem is you are most likely using the wrong headset, the raptor takes a semi-integrated headset which is 44mm in diameter. A standard 1 1/8 headset will not work. You need what is called I believe a zero-stack headset. Torque bikes probably should be more clear on the headset you need and called it a zero-stack or 44mm headset.

Keep moving, do you have a fork with a 1.5" fork tube? That may be why your fork wont fit. You need a fork with a 1.125" or more common 1 1/8" fork tube.

I was just trying to fit a bottom-bracket incl. crankset from race-face but i Looks like it is not wide enough to fit the raptor frame. The bottom-bracket is a Standard 83mm which fits the Frame well, but the crankset (especially the axle) seems not wide enough. Actually the crank is touching the Swinging arm (rear). Any suggestions or ideas what I should do else or what component I must buy? Thanks!

Ecruz just commented on this recently that his pedals/crankarms just clear the swingarm.

Could you take pictures of your crankset actually hitting the swingarm and is it on both sides?

How much more clearance do you need so the pedals do not hit the swingarm? I know that many bottom brackets come with 2.5mm spacers so you may be able to use these spacers to give you some extra clearance.

I must say it seems that ecruz, moonshine, Da-Ben, and even torque bikes all use truvativ bottom brackets and maybe truvativ cranks. These truvativ bottom brackets and cranks look to have a wider q-factor, by both the bottom bracket being wider and the pedals flare out more. From what I can see it may be the case that we may only be able to use wide q-factor cranks/bottom brackets. But again I have no idea just speaking from what I have seen works.

Good morning,

the bottom-bracket was delivered with three spacers (approx. 2mm each) but it is the axle of the crankset that is to short then?! From my perspective I do need a bottom-bracket with a total width of approx. 100mm at least (incl spacers) and a crankset with an according longer axle. Actually the crankset does touch the swing-arm on both sides.

BTW: the crankset had crank-handles with a lenght of 172mm ... (if that makes the difference)

Guys, I'd like to thank all of you for this amazing forum and say hi. I'm from Ukraine, I have been lurking for a while and have zero practical experience in building. But I'm already learning electronics stuff, soldering, etc. I'm more of a motorcycle person than a bike person. I just sold my trusty yamaha wr250 enduro which was my fourth motorcycle and want to try something new, something lighter, something I can bring to my flat via an elevator. So I have time (long winter ahead) and money to build a fun ebike. So much more to learn.

hmmm...the first? i dunno....

i'm thinkin about dropping down to 24s3p...4p makes it that much heavier. I'm trying to upload the video of today's ride...I upped the current to 125a motor and 100a battery. she run's great! I think i'll call her KELLY (someone on gcindc's forum said it).

pedaling is not that bad anymore, but i'll be honest, i don't do much of it. once i adjust the seatpost i think i'll feel a lot better.

Moonshine, your build looks great! I am guessing the plastic wrap was for protection from the rain? 126# isn't bad at all. Especially with the amount of lipo onboard. Can't wait to see your video.

Moonshine, forgot about you because I have not heard from you in so long.

Anyway, what I found is that adding or removing a few batteries does not make that much of noticeable difference in weight. Especially considering all the benefits you get from the extra batteries.
The bike is simply heavy, it is steal, has a heavy fork and motor. Dropping 4 batteries would only save you like 8 lbs. Not worth it in my opinion.
