Searching for a spare/upgrade controller

E-HP,
I looked on alibaba to see if I can the manufacturer of this controller,

I found this:

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/60-72v-70A-3000w-3500w130A-brushless_1600540287719.html

I messaged them and asked if regen braking is possible and PC programming,
They said NO to both questions.
Thanks, that's too bad, but I'm learning to live without regen, even though the range decrease is noticeable. Your link is consistent with this one I found, that also lists the max phase current as 240A which is impressive. The link I found describes it as FOC too.
https://retail.uumotor.com/product/80a-controller/

None of the links I've found so far mention anything about programming it, even though it appears to have a programming port. However, looking at the same website, there a several smaller programmable FOC controllers, including one that is capable to driving two BLDC motors. Similarly, they are half heat sink, so probably dissipate heat well, given they are decently spec'd.

This one is 50A and 120A max phase current. Not as small as something like a phaserunner, but 1/3 more phase current, so might be nice for a smaller, but not mini, controller with FOC, regen and programmable, but with fewer bells and whistles. Probably makes a good setup if you put a Cycle Analyst in front of it.
https://retail.uumotor.com/product/programmable-motor-controller-speed-close-loop-60v-50a-uart-function/

Here's the Dual motor BLDC controller, never saw this option before:
https://retail.uumotor.com/product/programming-24-48v-40a-close-loop-control-dual-drive-brushless-controller/

hmm, I saw that one but skipped it mentally as I was focused on the unit I bought :p

, I will ping the contact on alibaba again, maybe I can buy a couple of programmable one,
Dual controller for $160 (plus shipping) is not bad,

before I buy the programmable one, I will ask him to share with me the details user manual and function/features.

Detail pics of the inside, received mine yesterday.
The insulating tape was covering the water sealing silicone gasket, I trimmed it with a razor.

The Controller chip label laser was etched out.

I mustered some ES courage to take off the FET pressure plate to take pics of the FETs

CAPs = 100V
FET = SKST049N08N SkyMOS1 N-ET 85V, 4.1mΩ, 120A [Thanks Amberwolf]

FYI: One leg of a fet in mine is NOT all the way in, you can see it in the pic circled in RED.

Hmmm, great catch on the FET leg. I think I'll be opening mine a 3rd time to get the output dialed in, so I'm going to inspect mine as well. I'm now leaning toward treating this as a disposable controller, since it's cheap and easy to replace.

Since winter is coming, I'd like to get it sealed up, so now I'm thinking of potting the whole thing with epoxy. When i have it open, I'm going to see where can drill a couple of holes in the plastic cover to inject it into. Realistically, if it ever blew, I wouldn't be trying to repair it or harvest any of its parts anyway.

EDIT: fixed to SKYSILICON SKST049N08N
(was incorrectly typed as SKYSILICON SKST048N08N)

Maybe related to this one (or could be totally different); only "similar" numbering I could find, and the crmicro company has this page

Hmm, looks like I should dial down the power a little with the Cycle Analyst. :shock:

BTW, I edited my post above to fix the p/n of what's actually in the controller--I looked at it today and somehow apparently I saw it as
SKST048N08N
but it is actually SKST049N08N
which is the same number that's on the CRST specs I'd found and posted/linked. :oops:

For grins I re-searched on the correct p/n and found a number of hits (which of course didn't show up yesterday):
https://en.sekorm.com/doc/2034438.html

I can't get the actual spec sheet because it requires you sign up via phone using a text message and code, but this is what's listed on the page above their "preview":

Amberwolf, Thanks I updated my post.

I sent UU Motor another query for their other models, They have a few that are programmable and one seems to have REGEN.
