Danny,

Do you have any timeline for Android 4.0.4 compatibility? Speedict only works with my old phone right now.

hi, can you tell me your phone brand and model ?

It's a HTC MyTouch 4G Slide. But I'm running a custom rom. CM 9.1

hi, can you tell me your phone brand and model ?

It's a HTC MyTouch 4G Slide. But I'm running a custom rom. CM 9.1

oh i see, the official latest android is 4.0.3, some custom 4.0.4 can work with speedict ebike, can you do a little test for us ?

1. if you have 2 phones, please do file transfer via bluetooth e.g. exchange ~ 1Mb files between them
2. if you have bluetooth headset, can you pair ? talk ?

Didn't work on my 4.04 King Droid custom rom for my galaxy note, but I got a feeling it might be the custom roms fault with the BT stack, works fine on my 2.X something Galaxy S.

Which brings me to my next point, suggestions for increased improvement.

-Relay control on an IO port, be nice to use a 5V relay and switch on and off lights etc via phone
-5V DC/DC out for charging phone (might not work for iTards because you need some added circuitry, but for the rest of us would be sweet)

I can confirm that both work

1) Was easily able to transfer a ~800kB file between MT4G running custom Android 2.3.5 Sense 3.5 and a MT4GS running CM9.1 Android 4.0.4
2) I don't have a headset, but my car (Ford Edge MFT) connects and works, including music streaming w/controls and album art.

I finally got the chance to connect my pas sensor and throttle cables.
But in legal mode 2 i have the same as ErikJan:

Erikjan said:
When i twist throttle the bike go 6km/h so far so good. but when i paddle the bike go full speed.
Even if i dont twist the throttle. I dont like that.

To quote myself, this is what we like to have, maybe you can design this in a new mode in a future update.

Hi Danny,

I mean that you that you can use the throttle to go at a max. speed of 6 km/h if you are not pedaling.

I think what we all want (especially in europe) is an easy accessible button, one click to go from legal mode to "offroad / no governor" mode and back.

Legal mode would be:
No pedaling: throttle can be used for speed of 0 to 6 km/h.
When pedaling: throttle can be use for speed of 0 to 25 km/h.

"offroad" mode would be:
No pedaling required, throttle up to unlimited or higher defined max. speed.

English is not my language either, but i cannot make it clearer that the above. :|

Oh, another 'issue' i had: I was so stupid to leave the controller powered on and i was doing the settings again in legalmode 2 with the phone connected to speedict on bluetooth. Halfway when the phone was sending some settings the bleutooth connection was lost (happens sometimes during setting) AND my bike shoot forward with max. power! Luckily it bumped with the front tyre into the front tyre of my motorbike and stopped... phew...

hi N!co,

sorry for the delay as we still wait for Erikjan's update, please try below fix and let me know if it can fix the problem !

this is road legal 2 suppose to do, without pedaling you can go with twist throttle up to 6km only, with pedaling detected you can use both twist throttle or pas as your signal sources, speedict ebike take the highest signal ...

for immediately switch to offroad, we have instant legal feature pending to be launch, with instant legal (or later personal profile) you can immediately switch to any setting you like !

oh sorry to heard that, but the command exchange between android and speedict ebike via bluetooth has handshaking protocol, any incomplete command will be ignored ...

you are not stupid ha ha ... but please play attention when setting with pas and throttle signal, leave your bike above ground is highly recommended :D

Ah, it takes the highest signal from pas or throttle. You got me thinking now... I left the setting Cadence Matching at 60:100. That could be the reason it goes to full speed when pedaling and no throttle. I will try 60:1, so throttle will always be the highest!
If that not works i will try the beta firmware.

no ! 60:100 is normal means when cadence is 60 throttle output 100, when your cadence is 30 throttle the maximum power output is 50% etc
i think you need to apply the fix firmware !

Ok, i tried the beta and it worked. :D

It was before i read your last post so i used these settings:
legalmode 2:
pas magnets: 6
cadence match: 60:1 <<< is ok for me i think. I only want pas to enable to use the throttle from 0kmh to max speed. I dont want power regulated according to pas cadence.
throttle range: off
start mode: 6kmh
throttle type: current 25A 50 gain

Only thing is (but that was also with V2.4.0) starting with throttle, no pas, to 6kmh works a bit slow. It starts with very low power and only when its detecting the speedsensor it speeds up to 6kmh. It takes about 10 seconds for the speedict to settle at 6kmh. I think i should play around with the 'start mode' settings.

yes, start mode !

I also erased the record but synchronizing is still failing. It looks like it is always hanging on the last file. That is on android 4.0.4 though! I will try an official samsung rom on my S2.

A big thanks for your support and quick replies! Other companies could learn from you. :!:

yes pleaselet me know if it was caused by 4.0.4 :D

Ok tried the unit in a basic configuration and all works fine :)

I have purchased the breakout throttle connections and noticed there are two a blue and a red one.

1. The Red, which as I read, you connect from port 4 to the controller only seems to have two pins +5ve and signal ?

2. The Blue, which as I read, you connect from port 2 to the throttle has three pins ?

Just to confuse things the wiring is different than most throttle connectors, in that the +5ve connector is the middle pin (usually its an outer pin the center being signal). So I guess that needs to be wired correctly or smoke will come out

Finally if you want to connect an ebrake to use the governor to kill power which port does that go in ?

I guess I could trawl back through every post here and find out. The supplied diagrams don't really warn about the different wiring or make it that clear :(

Regards

Jerry

see attached pics or userguide page 21. it is signal and ground

i don't think there is any standard throttle connection, all you need to confirm your pins, on our userguide page 31 or see attached pic for the throttle cable pin out

Ah very helpful. It makes sense as it looks like the cables outputs are correct as the cables swap round the pin order.

Thanks for your quick response :)

Oh dear now I am getting nothing from the speedict at all :(

When I plug it into the battery nothing happens no flashing lights nothing :(

I unplugged it from the battery and have tried using USB and nothing either :(

I will email you speedict

Just to acknowledge all the help and what great service speedict are giving me offline.

This seems like a fine company who are interested in their customers :)

Sorry for late answer, i was away for 2 weeks.

For me with the new firmware it work the same as the old.
But i think i know the problem.

You say when paddeling the speedict use the pas input and throttle input and use the fastest.
Thats is the problem. It have to output only the throttle signal not the pas signal. What most people in holland want is when padeling and dont use the throttle motor does nothing.

Pas is only a kind of switch when paddeling you can use throttle when not paddeling you can only 6 km h

I will try the 60 : 1 setting tomorrow and maybe it will work for me to.

Point is whe want to control power whit a twist throttle but that is only legal when padeling.

yes, then set the PAS cadence rate as use pedaling as legal switch

Sorry, same problem syncing with android 4.0.3.

For legalmode 2, no pedaling, 6kmh start was a bit slow as i said. I tried the setting 'soft start' with different gain values but that would result in max. speed 25kmh on throttle with no pedaling. It's not legal anymore. If you can make the 6kmh start better, that would be great.

sorry i was wrong, the 6km is fixed, you can either select "6km" or "start power", the reason why we provide "start power" because some customers want to be governed by top speed only, not legal throttle start.

we can improve or open the 6km range start power setting but we don't think it can't help because 6km is such a short range from station to speed sensor to pick up speed value, if increase start power it may "overshot"
