Tabless design cylindrical cells tests

Check this video testing the new EVE 50PL.
I know I do not have the correct equipment and I will have a lot of criticism but I cant wait to test the cell and I did it what what I have until @CamLight , @Pajda and @Doctorbass receive the cells. I already shipped to @CamLight and @Doctorbass. waiting in more information from Pajda to shipped to him.

The cell perform amazingly in my opinion. The cables heat up and the resistors I have as well so the resistance was reduced quickly. Temp sensor was lose at the end because the heat but in my book I accomplish my commitment that have at least an idea of what the cell was capable to do.

Now lets wait for the pros for their numbers.

Thank you for sending some out to the pros for testing! It will be really interesting to see how they stack up in comparison to the other tabless cells but the voltage drop in your test looked crazy good. I wonder when Ampace, BAK and Samsung are going to release their 5ah offering

Actually, it was not so long ago when a load capable of 125 A was absolutely sufficient for a short circuit safety test of a cell in that format. Great work! @ZEUS-FL

I am waiting for CBA to have the Equalizer in stock to buy one 1000W version to be able to test up to 200A.
When you think about it !!! 125A form a single cell in that size is insane.

Just to share more information about the size weight and comparing next to the EVE 40PL

Looking at this 21700 cell, the discharge claims are a bit wild: -25C/125A to -36C/180A discharge pulses from a single cell.

No mention of cycle life, though at this point, adding a "Not for cycle life" disclaimer would probably be redundant.

For reference, the EVE 58E cycle life data is >70% capacity after 500 cycles at 100% DOD under -1C/5.6A discharge and +0.5C/2.8A charge, given 10 minutes rest after charge and 30 minutes after discharge.

The 50PL vs. 50D vs. JP50 match ought to be a hot one!
