It looks like it has a standard brushless DD rear hub motor. These motors typically can handle 72v(20S) 25amps until they start to become space heaters and ruin hall sensors. Since you are already running 48v system there is not much room to up the voltage. Your controller will most likely have 63v capacitors in it so you will need a new one if you decide to increase voltage. I wouldn't use more than 16-18cells of Lithium though. You will need to get a higher volt/amperage 12-fet controller for more power these will handle 36-84v 45amps no problem.

Your motor must be a really slow wind to only do 22mph on 48v. So if you are looking for a speed demon transformation you might want to think about replacing the rear hub with something more powerful from http://www.kellycontroller.com obviously if you end up getting a motor there, they have controllers also.

Or maybe the option is available to sell this bike and get a "better" one for your needs all together to save time/money, but then again this is a very addicting hobby and can cost a lot at times.

Put In Sensorless Controler,100 volt caps,still not verry fast, What Relay do I Need To Run Delta Star Wye System, That At Least Got Me 32-33 mph,any Moore Ideals

Your new controller probably gives you slightly higher pickup and top speed since it should handle higher amperage, but i'm not sure what you bought. The next step is upping the voltage until you reach the top speed of your liking. Just make sure not to run more than 20S lithium since it starts getting a little crazy there. Cheapest way would be to get 1 more 12v SLA battery like you have now and put it in series with the others...So the 48v would be 60v nominal.

At that point your original charger would also need to be changed, or you will need to find alternate charging situations.
