Found the culprit, when I first got the TC4080, the phase and sensor wires were way to short. So I chopped the phase wires off down near the axle and stepped in 10g wires like I did on the 5404. Then I had to splice and extend the sensor wires. There are 5 tiny 24g wires that I had to individually splice and resolder extensions too. Well, because they are so small, and I was using a 140watt solder iron, I couldn't put much heat time into each wire. Long story short, reinspected the wires and discovered one of the splices, redish/orange wire had a cold solder contact. it was floating and touching each other but for all intensive purposes was two separate wires. So I heated up the splice. Everything works perfectly now, 23 pole count for settings and display is accurate.
On another note. For the last couple of weeks, I have been seeing a yellow and black Sondors fat tire ebikes cruising around my neighbor hood. A few days ago, I was walking home from the gym, and saw a younger guy, riding the black one. I asked him to stop and let me check out his ride. The guy bolted, I guess I look scary or something. Anyway I sprinted to my house which was about 1/4 mile away. Took me like 75-80 seconds to get there. In my defense I had a back pack with over 20 pounds of gear on. I grabbed my Fighter and hauled ass looking for this guy. Couldn't find him. Today, saw him again while riding my Fighter. I called him out saying "whats up?" "I knew I would see you again". And before I could ask any questions, the guys says, "I don't have time to talk, I have to be somewhere" and bolts pedal assisting his ass off with the Sondors WOT. I couldn't resist, so I pedaled behind him, pretending that 24MPH was hard to achieve and yelled that his bike was fast and hard to keep up with. Guy turns back towards me, and then pedals even harder hitting 26-28mph. Well, I twisted the throttle and caught him. This startled him and he flinched and had a sympathetic reaction at the handlebars and almost rear-ended a parked car. Anyway, I made a positive comment about how fast his bike was and how fuqing HUGE his tires were, twisted the throttle, and disappeared from his view. At first, I thought the whole interaction was funny, but then when I started reflecting objectively about the interaction, a couple of things became apparent. First, this guy didn't know my Fighter was an ebike with about 12 times the power as his ebike, if he did know, he wouldn't of tried to out run me because that would be futile. Second, I don't think I look like an intimidating scary person, I am only 5'11" and 235 (loosing weight
) so my size isn't intimidating, but this guy looked scared of me. Possibly special needs maybe. Anyway I don't know what to make of it, I would really like to talk ebike stuff with him and get a close look at his bike. DAMN those tires are HUGE? I wonder whats going on and why this guy is acting scared? I am posting this question to everyone here. Tell me what you think is going on.
