I also will install a kill switch. Just in case the throttle sticks or something. I had to on the Currie as it goes about 5 mph with 0 throttle. I wont even need to turn this one on going to Wall-Mart or downtown. Just for a minute or two on the way back. As long as it still pedals good with the kit I wont need much power. The Currie is the beast. Its really hard to pedal. Especially with those SLAs. I just hope it still pedals good.

Will post tomorrow at library

Boy I really like that charger. I wish I bought that instead of the one I got. I would have bought two of them.

Much better prices ... but longer wait.
You will need a minimum 2! (You have 4 - 6s batteries ... right?)
Do not leave in balance connector-plugs for extended periods, they drain s1 & s2 cells slightly.

Buy spares!
Cheap and some are more accurate than others.

1-8S Lipo Battery Low Voltage Tester Buzzer Alarm $1.68
Programmable, individual bank LVA- Low Voltage Alarm
Displays pack voltage then individual bank voltages
Use multiple for larger packs. 2 for upto 16s, 3 for 24s etc.
I ran to front bars using 8 wire Ethernet cable (7s 25.9V Li-ion)
Use as voltage meter only, hook to wires going to 24V leds on throttle. (30V max)

Accuracy varies greatly!

Click US Only button for fastest shipping ... w/best price.
Some 2pcs, 4pcs etc. listings.

No on the 1 pack and change.
If you run one set too a low voltage and not the other, then you CANNOT charge them togeather.

Every time you take apart the connectors is another chance to make a mistake,KFF!

I don't understsnd why you insist on runing 1/2 of what you have.
The Idea of having more than you need is so you don't have to worry about killing half of the set.

Do what you want as I/We can't stop you. Everyone here that has posted, in most cases wanted to help.

Put the batteries in the cash box the controller in your basket so it stays connected to the wiring for the motor. As I said earlier, the more you take it apart (batteries, controller connections) the better chance of miss wiring or breaking a connection!

Ok I'm not rushing into this and will take your advice.

So far possible fire and explosion warnings have been displayed 5 times in 7 pages. It has a temperature probe. Internal independent lithium balancer.(Does that mean I dont have to use the white plugs?) Complicated. Its got a charge mode. Balance mode and fast mode. I already wonder why it would need the balance wires hooked up if it has an internal balancer. See page 04 and 13. Optimized operating software is their version of idiot proof charging I guess. page 04. An auto function. The ideot button. I like that. Delta peak sensitivity. Threshold point termination. My version of ''When the battery's voltage exceeds the threshold, the process will be terminated automatically at the maximum value.''. I simplified 17 words down to three. google the manual if you think not. skycharger6200. Dont you hate some math teachers. I remember college. This one teacher. He could make a simple math problem fill the chalk board.
Could have solved that on half a piece of paper. What are you proving? How hard you can make something be? Just showed the ol lady what I just wrote. she LOL. This is what I started college for in 1995. I went part time. back in 05 And 06 too. I forgot a lot. Its been a long time. Algebra2 in 06. teacher I mentioned. Circuits 2 back in 96. dont remember it well. Think RMS was 70% of peak. Not sure. Thiele small parameters. I have heard of those.
Me and Douge argue about the new stuff. He thinks the new home theater stuff can compete. I think not. My old school fixed up smoke that new stuff. He has no clue. I wish I had a picture of those custom 18''corner 8.5 cubic foot custom speakers with custom bass ports in the bottom designed out of Vance Dickinson's loudspeaker cook book. lost them when I had to move. Got stolen. the 50 watt realistic in that picture had the cops knocking on less than quarter volume level. Without the preamp input from a graphic equalizer. Douge has no idea. he is young. He thinks his little sub in the corner of his living room is really great and is 2,000 watts. He is smart with some things like computers but has no idea what Vas. or F3 is. He can help me switch over the tire. I am not letting him hook anything up. I knew he did not know what he was doing when he hooked the parallel board to the power supply last week. here is a picture of the equipment I used back then. Accurately measures Thiele small parameters and calculates box volume and port size. Really sweet. I knew I saw those bullet connectors somewhere before.
Yes I do know a thing or two about electricity. I just forgot a lot or most of it. I will read over the manual again today. Also are there any videos hooking Lipos up parallel series. Speakers don't work like batteries. They don't zap you or catch on fire either. I need to study this more. If I was not stuck in a dead end dish washing job for 10 years and finished college when I should have I could have been the guy that designed that Sky charger.LOL.
At least now I know where I fit in in in the field of electrical technology. I thought the audio field when I was in college. I was wrong. This is my destiny. The EV revolution. I want to specialize in DC motors research and development. Give me a couple of years and the 14 credits I need for my degree and I will take my place in the industry.
I may keep the good SLAs. one would power a good E bike stereo. Kind of a nice area to explore. One of those heavy SLAs could do justice to a mid amp Decware Deathbox 2 -8 inch isobaric push pull sub or auto-tuba rear basket setup. What you think DrkAngel. e bike db. drag racing. Lets set it off.
I will figure it out. My other post. 10k+. LPH says that crazy Motenergy motor is crap. is there anything that can be done? It cant be modifoed? Sunder. What do you think? I hate to 86 the idea. Thinking about that crazy hub motor awhile ago. I think you posted one DrkAngel. LFP has a crazy motor he is talking about. Post some 10k plus motors on 10k plus motors please. Graphs will be appreciated.
Thanks Latecurtis out.

You do realize that a lipo charger is designed to equally charge all the cells in a pack.

The only way to do this is to run wires to each cell.
4 to a 3s and 5 to each 4s.
If you don't use the balance wires, then the charger has no way of knowing the voltage of each cell.

If you are lucky enough to have perfect cells (never seen um!) you could just use a cheap fast bulk charger.
Internal balancer uses the balance wires to balance the cells ...
Use "balance" function for charging.

please comment on switch. i will need a link for the switch and power supply. the lipos will go in the bottom cash box and will not need to be opened until time to replace. power supply charger and switch in top cash box with extention cord. at erics home for dinner will be back for beers later hope to hear from you guys then, thanks latecurtis

i did not even have to read the post. when i went home i fixed my mistake. i just hope there is a switch that will work. will post tommorow at library. please let me know. thanks latecurtis out

i could hook up a bullet connector to the switch where the charger goes and plug the charger into it for now and would not need another power supply or cash box now. i would just be able to charge at home for now.

i will do that but still need the special switch. i dont know what the switch would be called. only know what i want it to do.

22 . 44V switch is possible available ... I posted up a schematic and links.
Not possible unless you disconnect re-connect the balance connectors twice per each cycle tho.

you mean they have to be unplugged after charging and plugged in before charging correct

dont know what link to click on just want a link to order switch unless home depot has it what is it called

should be an easy one. posistion a completes circuit 1 22.2 volts or posistion 2 completes circuit b 44.4 volts.

its an idiot switch both circuits cant be completed at same time so no shock fires or burned out equipment.

it prevents a disaster if i go to charge the batteries when i am drunk. the charger has an idiot button and the lipos are in a metal box so everything is covered only way i am doing this.

a three posistion switch??? with a resister??? how about posistion A 44.4 volts to controller and posistion B 22.2 volts to charger and a link to order it . it should be cheap or at home depot for under 10 bucks. dont know what it is called.

i really want this done this weekend. I should be able to run either bike with this set up once i get a 48 volt controller for the currie. Dan what do you think?

Sunder? are you there. DrkAngel I dont understand the 3 posistion switch or resister. Did you see my diagram i did on paint. the second one not the first. made a mistake on the first.

Further in the thread.
24V 20Ah switch to 48V 10Ah battery.
