also, how many pas levels does this tsdz8 have? 5?
My TSDZ8 was shipped with VLCD5 display and has 4 pas levels.
1st is a proper workout
2nd is my default and offers a nice balance
3rd I use for steep hills
4th I reserve for climbing walls or super steep hills.
I don't feel the need to change PAS settings. Maybe I would recalibrate first level of assistance if it was very easy, but it is so much easier just to press one button and change it to 2.

alright so i just put in an order on the TSDZ8 from AliExpress because they got some discount week (ends in 8.6. i think) so overall i paid 275€ with a discount code, good price i think. i asked seller and they told it comes with xt60 Connection, also with ekd01 display. currently, i dont have an bike for converting... i was about to buy a used FS bike but it got delisted so now im searching for a bike to convert. in the meantime, can i download some firmware update for this motor? anyone know where to find that?
I received the hex file today from the supplier for the firmware upgrade for theTSDZ8. I went to upgrade, but I get file errors. I have used the open source firmware on the TSDZ2 and TSDZ2B before, so I know how to do it. I was wondering if there are different settings for the TSDZ8 on the STVP program. I'm utilizing the same cable with the St link USB that I've used for the TSDZ2B but I continue to get errors. Has anyone else had any success upgrading the firmware on this motor? The error is "address 0xxxxxx is out of range and is ignored".
What displays would work with TSDZ8? I want to skip using ugly VLCD5 but this is the only option pswpower will ship together with the motor. I know EKD01 is working but if ordered separately it needs to be flashed for tonsehneg protocol? I see some of you are using DZ41 but does it work straight of the box? It is advertized as bafang display. Is it possible to flash it with tonsengeng firmware? What other options there are? Any good ones? I prefer small form factor.

yeah but those on aliexpress are marked for bafang motors, so probably you need to flash the tonshengen firmware/bootloader to use them? I saw a video somewhere so this might be good idea. I see EKD01 is on sale now at aliepxress so might pull a trigger.

the seller ships these displays with their motor kit, this must work or people would refund it, so i dont see the problem here.
I have no idea what you are talking about, you just pasted a screenshot of 2 displays and not displays shipped with motor. Paste a link to it? The only ones if I search them I get just displays for bafang and any tsdz8 from my results is equipped with VLCD5
PSW is selling few displays for Tongsheng. VLCD10 is the one I like most, but for it to work I think you would need a cable splitter 8 pin to 6 and 3 pin. Not sure where to get this cable. Also don't think brake sensors would work with this display.

The cells are Samsung 50E and it's a 2P pack. I think that would be a little weak if you're often at full power. It's more a case use for Samsung 50S cells.Hello do you think this kind of 52V battery would be compatible with TSDZ8 without risk?

This pack would work but you probably will have a lot of voltage drop at high power, and premature ageing of the cells.
Do you think they would be better to take the 48V version or is it the same problem?
That would actually be worst. Less voltage, so more amps drawn for the same power. But again, that would work. It's just not ideal.
J'ai trouvé la consommation moins importante sur TSDZ8 parI found the consumption less important on TSDZ8 compared to my BBS02B that is what made me say that it could hold.
Unfortunately I tested and it's not compatible the diameter of the central hole is larger on the bafang and there is a slight offset for the screws
