Does the program cable for the TSDZ2 work with the TSDZ8? Looks like it should.
I read the very thorough review on the TSDZ8. I see that the main fault was almost no assist in the first two levels, due to poor use of the torque sensor data. A new FW update was released by the factory on April 2 of this month, I am glad I am still waiting to buy this motor. The weight increase over the TSDZ2 looks like 4.6 kg vs 3.9Kg? About 1-1/2 pounds. I also see other sellers put a better display in it, so I've abandoned plans to get it with VLDC5 from pswpower.

Ok, so what's up with PSW-POWERS TSDZ8s?
Other vendors seem to sell the 48V/750W version for about €500, but theirs go for €285.
Is this because of the cable problem mentioned on their page or what?
Since it looks like I need to cut the cable and connect my old TSDZ2-plug anyways, to fit it to my old battery:
It kinda seems like I can't go wrong with a €200+ discount. Especially since the alternative I'm considering as replacement for my busted TSDZ2 is a TSDZ2B for a mere €50 less..
Or.. am I missing something here? Firmware-Gremlins or whatnot?

My TSDZ8 was delivered with bullet connectors, but I didn't buy at PSW. It is quite different to TSDZ2B. Bigger and heavier.
Be careful when buying from PSW. I ordered 17.5AH 48V Samsung battery and they delivered 36V 12.5Ah. Use credit card if you can.
£250 for TSDZ8 sounds like a very good price. I paid £330 few months ago, for legal version.
Edit: It took nearly a month, but PSW eventually sent me the right battery. On top of that they didn't request return of battery they sent by mistake, so all good.

Chinese company means almost no warranty and practical no support. So ideal for diy

Who are these other vendors? on AliExpress, i find it for 349€. some seller called varstrom sell it for 360€

If you aren't able to solder an XT60 yet, I wouldn't advise ebike kits. I think it's important to be able to lengthen and shorten cables as needed.

To shorten cable I wrap it around frame. To lengthen cable I pull it really hard. No soldering required.

such nonsense. why should i spend 50$ on solder equipment that i use 1 time when i can buy battery connector adapter for 10$. at least i did that on tsdz2 and bbshd and havent had any problems yet. just because these Chinese are too cheap to use quality battery connector.. also your warranty is void when you solder a different connector

Not being able to solder in the DIY world puts you at the mercy of people selling $10 adapters that cost 25 cents in parts. Y-adapters to run packs in parallel. Barrel plugs to XT60. Never see your bullets overheating. Being able to splice busted JST connectors, etc.

Not wanting to solder doesn't equal not being able to. sure i could solder a new connection, but then a vendor could decline a warranty claim(depends on the vendor i assume)
Anyways, getting back to topic,

Has anybody found out how to get a dual front chain ring to the tdz8, something like 38/44, for instance?
since there is no spider you have to either manufacture one or see if anything can fit out of the box . either way there will be horrible chainline

In that case, the only option for my use seems to be a custom cassette, or at least one up to a 34T ring. I have an old, but an excellent hybrid bike I have been planning to electrify.
just installed tsdz8 and need TSDZ8 130BCD adapter
130bcd should fit down to 38 tooth sprockets and possibly allow double sprockets. TSDZ8 is fitted on ice recumbent trike with a 48v 20ah 21700 pack.

if it's a custom frame maybe it's possible to move motor 35mm to the left and screw smaller sprocket to the existing original one keeping the chainline?
