Green Road, really neat build, got any recent video? I think I saw one clip over a year ago somewhere, not certain though.

Hello the video to the Qulbix Frame an CPD Motor could be found here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9Ii9vg_EzU

a newer Video with the CPD Motor could be found here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSeRoq5sC_c&feature=youtu.be

We will make some new videos in the next week, if the weather ist fine.

The testing and setup is more important than a cool product selling videos......

Again that's neat, and yah, testing, is more important than spending the time making vids. Thank you for posting the video links.

Thanks for that. We work step by step. Our main thing ist the CPD Motor - now everything is tested and works fine.
The next step is to place the motor on different bikes - like the qulbix and make complete tested models.
I will also make some videos, for power proof. - thats better to see on a video than on a picture.
The interesting thing is, that our Qulbix has now about 25kg - and this is funny to ride...

Now is winter... and its hard to do tests outside-- but its also funny - i like also the cold weather.

Another picture from today...

Hello
I use now the Standard CPD100.25 16tooth - http://www.greenroad.at/shop/Torcman-CPD-10025
At rear i use - i think also an 16tooth /pinion
Controller: Kelly KBS48101HS - with about max. 2.5KW Setup / normal with about 1.5KW
Battery 18650:12S6P 17Ah Panasonic.
This setup was build up for proof of concept - it was the test setup we use since June2014 and did about more than 1000km for testing.
Most of them uphill in mountain not on street.
I like the 1:1 transmission and the 26" tyre
The maximum speed ist about 35 -40km/h

Next week we rebuild the bike to following setting
CPD100.16 16tooth / 24tooth
CPD100.05 16tooth
I will raise up the speed to 45 - 50km/h (more would be also possible)
Iam not sure today, if we build up an street bike or MTB Bike

We've updated our article with the progress made on our Raptor build.

We've also got the RRP price in Australian dollars for those interested. Can obviously be done for much cheaper using different parts (a lot of ours were sponsored), and no one really pays RRP anymore :)

Nice work Mark. So is it all finished now ?
Re: RRPs, it might be worth mentioning that the 160 frame is now discontinued and that the quoted RRP is for the new 140 model.
If you want to do a comparison shoot or otherwise borrow mine you're welcome to do so. The changes are largely visual though, any differences on the road would primarily come down to the difference in bicycle and electric component choices.

If you have got yours finished and happen to have some time over the xmas holidays let me know if you want to meet up for a ride and do some videoing. I'll be taking the opportunity to shoot a few videos anyway and one can never have too many gopros or ebikes :)

Hi Jay. Yep its almost finished just waiting on the brakes.

I'm going away over the break but let's tee up something when I'm back in Jan? Still need a hitch mounted trailer for it unless you want to come out to Richmond? :)

Will update the article re Raptor 140

Mark, looking forward to see your build finished. Which brakes are u going with.

Hi Rodney, i can't wait. Been quite awhile since we started. I ended up choosing the Magura MT Next series. Hope they don't throw another curve ball when it comes to fitting!

Thanks for the update Marc. The product links were helpful as well. I might order a couple of those .7mm freewheel spacers if my 1mm spacers don't line me up well.

Np, glad I could help.

The single 0.7mm spacer I'm using is almost touching the freewheel. I didn't need to use it as a spacer as such, I was just worried about it locking up against the hub. Got pretty lucky when I removed some of the thread. Still have a good amount of clearance between the chain and the hub and the chain coming off HSD is pretty straight. Won't know for sure of course till I put some decent tension through it.

Richmond, geez I dont go that far for holidays
If you have some sweet local trails though I could possible make an exception :)

What brakes are you waiting on ? I have some MT5s here that I still haven't gotten around to fitting to my bike if you were looking at those. The MT7s don't offer any real performance advance for the extra price IMO.

As for the trailer solution, what you need is a trailer-free, tow bar mounted rack custom designed to take the Raptor. If only someone in Sydney was in the process of having them made

Nope, I had it custom made to suit the raptor. I remember seeing a while back that gripsport do make a downhill bike rack but I'm not sure it'd be strong enough for a fully loaded raptor. Optioned up with moto rims, a cro style motor and max battery capacity they'd be pushing 50kg so you want something heavy duty.

Looks good, let me know when they're ready. Do you bundle them with strap downs etc?

GripSport can custom make one for us rated up to 60kg, but without being able to see it, there are risks involved. Would stick to something local in this case.

Yes I've made it with holes to ratchet straps front and rear. Basically one each side on the handlebars and a single one at hte back looped around the seat post and tightened down, then the crank straps to that upright piece to stop it swaying around when you accelerate and brake. The previous one I've been using didnt have this upright and there was a bit of sway so I wanted to avoid that with version 2.

I just had a look at the gripsport site and see they're now making them with a hooky bit that holds onto the top bar. It wouldn't be hard to custom make something to suit the square shape of the raptor but I'm not sure I'd trust that alone with no straps as they suggest. I guess if you locked out the suspension it'd be OK.
I might look at making V3 something like this. I'll bust out the welder over the holidays and knock up a proto and if it looks good I'll have it professionally made up.

And yeah, getting it made interstate sight unseen could be an issue. I actually took the bike down to my fabricator and we measured up and marked out things with the bike actually strapped to my first proto rack, then they reproduced it with the changes.
Freight up from Melb is an added cost too so it makes sense to avoid that.
I'll see how it works out and keep you posted.

I was only looking at single racks but for your purposes though you'd probably want a twin right ? One for the raptor and one for a second bike that you might be reviewing ? Once I get the raptor side sorted it wouldn't be hard to add on an extension for a second lighter bike. I'd want to keep the raptor weight as close to the car as possible to minimise leverage. For the sort of bikes you're typically reviewing you'd probably get away with one but I think having 2 heavier bikes might be pushing your luck...

Thanks Jay.

I'd keep the rack for the Raptor only. The second bike I would pop in the Forester with the seats down like we're already doing.

How are Stealth owners currently doing it? I would've thought something already existed that we could've adopted.

maybe i ask what front shock is this?
is that gold color or yellow color in real?

Not sure, I've seen some use motorcycle racks, I think remf might have been using one of those suction ones way back when but I'm not sure I'd trust a heavy stealth off one of those!

Maybe I tell you :p

It's the DNM USD-8, it's a goldy colour - essentially exactly as it appears in the photo. The stickers and front hub, seat etc are proper yellow

thank you for the secret telling :)
looks cool. I usually see the USD-8 has white color at the bottom (the shock shied ? not sure what exactly they called that)
