Shadow Sabre 12FET High Power Controller (Looking for Feedback)

Since it's vesc based, do you have a github where you're sharing the firmware for your device?
Weโ€™re building on the VESC firmware ecosystem with our own hardware configuration, tuning profiles, and platform-specific integration work.

Firmware files and related resources will be available through our website for customers, and weโ€™ll provide post-sales setup and tuning support to help builders properly configure their applications.

A public GitHub is something we may evaluate later as the platform and documentation mature further.

VESC is open source, that's why I was asking about your firmware.

Seeing this is still in the R&D phase, I assume you've not yet implemented one of these higher capacity controllers in a situation with a encoder as well as subjecting a motor to say 30kw?

Fair question, and I understand why you are asking.

The encoder side is already working, and the controller has been tested both in-house and in OEM/customer-side applications in the ~30โ€“40kW output range.

To clarify, this is not a fresh concept-stage product. The 144V platform has been used in real EV applications for roughly the past year. We have supplied units into higher-voltage OEM use cases, but we cannot share customer names, vehicle details, or project videos publicly due to customer confidentiality.

We are only now presenting this platform to the DIY EV community after validating it through controlled applications first. It is built around the VESC open-source ecosystem, while our work is focused on the hardware implementation, integration workflow, tuning, and application-specific validation.

The datasheet is now available on our website, and we can offer product warranty (12 months) support when used within the stated operating limits.

We will also post internal controller test videos here soon for public reference.

Details and datasheet listed on website: Shadow Sabre Motor Controllers by Symbyote Technologies

If you are seriously interested in testing it, feel free to contact us through WhatsApp (+91 7014043771) or email: info@shadowsabre.com

so we can review your application properly.

Do you have a individual that is actively using one of these higher capacity controllers that might provide a customer sided reivew?

Fair point.

That is exactly why we started the early access batch โ€” to get these controllers into the hands of real EV builders who can test them in actual applications, share honest feedback, and help us improve the product.

We do not want to build trust only through our own claims. We want real-world results from serious users.

You could become one of our first testers for this product and build a strong project around it. We would provide full technical support for setup, tuning, and application review.

We can also set up a short call to discuss your questions in detail. We are open to addressing technical doubts directly and transparently.

I see you have updated the website with the 48fet offering. Do you have any photos of the controller without the protective case on? I'm curious the internal busbars and layout.

Hi everyone,

Iโ€™ve been working on a high-power motor controller focused on sustained load performance rather than just peak specs.
Hello Shadowsabre. Do you want to start making this 12FET High Power Controller for Bafang M620? It looks like there is a lot of people who would like to have it

I see you've been online, I sent an email a few days ago never heard back so I sent a message here but no response either?

Shadow Sabre 48FET 144V Controller โ€” Early Builder Test Program

Hi everyone,

We are opening a small early-builder test program for our Shadow Sabre 48FET 144V motor controller.

This is not a general sales post. We are looking for a few experienced builders who can install, test, document, and share real feedback from high-power EV builds.

Available slots: 3 builders
Program offer: 50% launch discount on the 48FET unit kit
Application deadline: 30th June 2026

Controller highlights:
  • 144V nominal
  • 168V max input
  • 550A battery current
  • 1000A phase current
  • Up to 80kW peak power
  • VESC-based tuning support
Target applications:
  • Drag e-bikes
  • Electric go-karts
  • Hyper scooters
  • High powered electric motorcycles
  • Custom high-power EV builds
What we need from selected builders:

  • Installation photos/videos
  • Test ride videos
  • Build updates
  • Real feedback on installation, tuning, thermal behavior, and ride performance
  • Honest reporting of issues, limitations, and improvements needed
Grand prize:

The best documented 48FET build will receive 1 free Shadow Sabre controller kit from our end.
Controller model will be announced after the program ends.

Runner-up builders may receive upgrade credits, discount vouchers, early sample priority, or future collaboration support.

How to apply:

Please message us with:
  • Vehicle details
  • Motor and battery setup
  • Previous controller/powertrain setup
  • Previous build photos or videos
  • Testing plan
  • Social/community presence if available
Selection will be based on build quality, testing capability, safety, documentation quality, and seriousness of the builder.

This is a high-performance controller for experienced builders only. Closed-course testing only. Build safely and tune responsibly.

We are open to technical questions and feedback from the community.

Quick brand update: Our high-performance motor controller product line, previously introduced as Shadow Sabre, is now called Symbyote Systems.

The engineering team, controller platforms and development direction remain unchanged. The three samples already supplied to builders will continue to receive full technical support.

I highly recommend adding a redirect on your old website so people don't think you went out of business if they go back to it :D

Thank you for your suggestion, we have already done it. We will check again if it is not working yet.
